Facilities Supervisor Job Description and Qualifications
Position Summary:
Supervises team members in responding to facilities corrective and preventative maintenance in multiple areas such as carpentry, electrical, HVAC/R, plumbing, electro-mechanical, and other utility and infrastructure systems. Organizes, directs and controls the daily operations of various facilities maintenance activities and projects. Ensures that work activities and/or projects are completed on time and are recorded appropriately in site CMMS. Assigns duties and follows up to inspect quality of work, including the proper use of procedures and materials in compliance with company workplace standards. Ensures that employees work in a safe and efficient manner. Routinely provides advice and assistance to technicians towards the achievement of their performance goals. Collaborates regularly with other supervisors and skilled-trades employees, contractors, and members of administration and management.
Summary of Responsibilities:
• Ensure technicians and mechanics effectively carry out work schedules and assignments in alignment with JLL / client safety culture and work ethic protocols.
• Coordinate daily work activities and/or projects for employees.
• Ensure all administrative documentation is in place and properly completed prior to technicians executing tasks, including all WOs, Safe Work Permits, etc.
• Perform field checks and oversight activities.
• Work with tools as required to assist technicians to fulfill maintenance activities and system installations.
• Orient, train, and develop employees to work according to established JLL / client standards and establish goals and objectives for employees to enhance knowledge and competencies within the work environment.
• Perform evaluations on employee performance and implement various actions to improve performance as warranted.
• Coordinate the activities of subcontract personnel to ensure safe and efficient execution of tasks.
• Interact with clients to coordinate work and communicate project purpose, length, potential disruptions, and other conditions of the job that may affect customers.
• Work intimately with CMMS to track WO status and ensure proper documentation of work progress and results.
• Maintain proper records management requirements.
• Research and order materials as needed.
• Participate in meetings and conduct various administration duties.
• Investigate and respond to customer complaints about employee and/or service quality.
• Maintain and contribute to a safe work environment.
Technical Skills/Education:
• Minimum 2 year Associate degree preferred with mechanical and/or electrical emphasis.
• Technical or vocational school coursework relevant in building maintenance skills.
• Ability to operate tools or equipment with a skill level that is typically acquired through trade or vocational school training.
• Minimum six years of practical and relevant experience.
• This role requires proficiency in current Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) with the capability to master company specific software and databases and other business software.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for communication with staff, management, co-workers, vendors, guests, and all other persons associated directly or indirectly with JLL / client.
• Demonstrated track record of leading people in a respectful manner that encourages team synergy and productivity.
• Leadership style that models personal integrity and compliance to company policies and practices.
• High autonomous decision making.
Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions:
• This job requires working in a professional office setting. You may be working indoors and outdoors in a range of temperatures that may vary from hot to cold. Bending, lifting, twisting and standing for long hours may be required. You may be required to lift up to 40 pounds.
• The typical work environment involves potential high risks associated with exposure to dangerous situations that require strict adherence to prescribed safety policies, procedures, and precautions.
