A day in your life as an Escrow Servicing Specialist:
Under the supervision and guidance of the Escrow Administration Manager, the Escrow Servicing Specialist II is responsible for the review of work processed by the Banks lender placed and insurance tracking vendor for compliance; in addition, the preparation, processing, and follow-up on all aspects of Flood Insurance, Private Mortgage Insurance (PMI), Mortgage Insurance Premium (MIP), Property Tax, Optional Insurances, Lease Rent and Escrow Analysis. Cross-training staff on new functions and enhancements to the system. Assists in business unit’s compliance with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory requirements and Bank policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to Fair Banking, Anti-Money Laundering laws and regulations, Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act
We’ll give you these important responsibilities…
• Monitors lender placed and insurance tracking vendor for compliance with investor guidelines and/or Bank standards. Review of various reports internal and external to ensure insurance information setup, disbursements, cancellations and correspondence are processed timely and accurately. Monitors property tax vendor for compliance with investor guidelines and/or Bank standards. Reviews various internal and external reports to ensure property tax payments are made timely and accurately to avoid penalties. Follows-up with vendor for identified issues to ensure remediation. Ensures timely processing of premiums for private mortgage insurance (PMI), mortgage insurance (MIP) optional insurance and other required disbursements.
• Handles inquiries and performs research for internal and external customers and resolves most problems using independent judgement with little supervision. Communicates effectively verbally and in writing with customers and all levels of employees and management. Maintains an understanding of complex escrow accounts to effectively explain account details.
• Understands and utilizes the functionality of the Mortgage Application System and other available system tools to perform duties more efficiently and effectively.
• Cross-trains staff on new functions and enhancements to the system or operations within section and department. Assists in formulation, communication and implementation of department policies. Coordinates departmental changes required to improve customer service and reduce overall cost.
Qualifications

Education:
• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Experience:
• Minimum 4 years of increasingly responsible positions in mortgage/escrow administration, requiring knowledge of basic accounting/book keeping or equivalent work experience.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
• Demonstrated proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) or similar software.
• Knowledge of or ability to use Bank software and systems.

• Possesses strong oral and written communication skills.
• Must demonstrate critical thinking, be analytical, detail oriented and organized.
• Must be an effective and efficient team player with good interpersonal skills, as well as negotiation skills.
• Able to meet fixed and changing deadlines, handle multiple priorities and follow up consistently.
• Must be flexible and able to work with internal and external stakeholders of varying levels.
• Able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Must be able to lift bins/boxes weighing 20-30 lbs.
