About the job:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to join a team of Engineers and Developers that support Network and Communications Operations within our Hosting Services organization. In this role you will use your coding skills to develop applications that will automate manual processes. This involves analyzing current processes and making recommendations for automation. You will have an opportunity to work on squads of up to 9 people in an Agile environment.
Desired skills:
• Generally 5+ years of professional development experience in Java or Python.
• Experience with Full Stack Development including HTML, JavaScript and Node.js and SQL Server Databases.
• Knowledge in web service development, design and specifications writing with SOAP or REST.
• Foundational knowledge or proficient in new and emerging technologies such as AWS and Cloud, DevOps, CI/CD and MicroServices.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication and collaboration skills.
• General knowledge of agile software development concepts and processes.
• Must be proactive, demonstrate initiative and be a logical thinker.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in technical or business discipline or equivalent experience.
• Generally 3+ years of professional experience.
• Proficient in two or more programming languages and tools; knowledgeable in new and emerging technologies.
• General knowledge business function(s) and business operations, as well as IT strategies, and methodologies, including understanding of agile software development concepts and processes. General knowledge of layered systems architectures and understanding of shared software concepts, cloud based platforms, and development tools.
• Understanding of backlog tracking, burndown metrics, and incremental delivery.
• Negotiation skills; oral and written communication skills.
• Must be proactive, demonstrate initiative and be a logical thinker.
• Consultative skills, including the ability to understand and assist in applying customer requirements, including drawing out unforeseen implications and making recommendations for design, the ability to define design reasoning, understanding potential impacts of design requirements.
• Collaboration, prioritization, and adaptability skills required.
