Job Summary Note: This position will be responsible primarily for the Virginia and Pennsylvania markets.
The Sr. Indirect Dealer Representative will develop product sales through indirect channels including marine, RV, and auto. Responsibilities include acquiring, cultivating and enhancing relationships with dealers to obtain consumer loan business. This includes identifying selling opportunities and implementing business development strategies. The Sr. Dealer Rep will train dealers on the use of front end loan application systems and respond to dealer issues and questions effectively. The Sr. Dealer Rep will handle more complex transactions.
Job Responsibilities:
• Independently develop business by contacting and visiting prospective dealers to present information on indirect lending services.
• Attend trade shows and association meetings to build awareness and relationships.
• Increase the number of participating dealers as well as the number of loans received from participating dealers, focusing on larger and more complex relationships/transactions.
• Develop and maintain dealer relationships by providing effective training on use of front end loan application systems and responding to dealer issues and questions timely and effectively.
• Collection of information needed to evaluate prospective and existing dealers and make periodic site visits inspections.
• Maintain awareness of all laws and regulations plus development or trends in the Indirect Lending industry.
• Utilize data to monitor dealer performance. Support credit quality and compliance.
• Assist in collection of charge-backs and lien placement activity as needed.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Complete all required compliance training. Maintain knowledge of and adhere to Flagstar's internal compliance policies and procedures. Take responsibility to keep up to date with changing regulations and policies.
Job Requirements:
• High School Diploma, GED or Foreign Equivalent
• 10+ years of experience in indirect lending business development or equivalent sales experience within the dealer market or financial institution – OR - 3+ years of experience in indirect business development in the marine/RV industry
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail coupled with the ability to multitask
• Excellent sales presentation skills
• Must have a vehicle and a valid driver’s license for required travel
• Microsoft Word and Excel computer skills preferred
