Position Description
SEI (NASDAQ:SEIC) is a leading global provider of investment processing, investment management, and investment operations solutions that help corporations, financial institutions, financial advisors, and ultra-high-net-worth families create and manage wealth. The Supervisor in the alternative investments funds department is responsible for ensuring the successful and accurate completion of daily reconciliations and processes. This individual must also train and supervise Accounting Analysts and strictly enforce the departmental policies and procedures required to service alternative funds.
The responsibilities for this position may include some or all of the following:
Ensure daily client deliverables are met
Ensure all established daily processing procedures and controls are completed accurately and timely
Serve as main daily client operational contact
Ensure the delivery of exceptional client service
Ensure that issues are promptly resolved or elevated to more senior management
Ensure that repeating issues are addressed by eliminating the underlying causes
Train and supervise Accounting Analysts on systems, processing, procedures and job responsibilities
Review daily work performed by Accounting Analysts
Evaluate, write and discuss employees’ performance appraisals
Position Requirements
BS/BA degree in accounting, finance, business or related field, or the equivalent in education and work experience
Minimum 2 years’ operational or trade processing experience
Knowledge and expertise of the Advent (Geneva)system is highly desired
Understanding of offshore and domestic fund industry and practices
Understanding of a wide range of traded products, including equities, fixed income products, futures, exchange trades futures and options as well as derivative securities
Detail oriented
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Team Player
Flexible
Strong aptitude for numbers
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
Ability to work under pressure
Some Supervisory experience a plus
Knowledge of Excel and Word for Windows
Knowledge and expertise of the SunGard, Invest One, Investier, and Investran systems preferred
Physical Demands and Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the work environment may require an individual to move around the office and from building to building which may expose the individual to weather conditions outside. The individual has to be able to sit or be stationary at a computer and use computers for extended periods of time and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. The noise level in the environment is moderate and the individual must be able to communicate and exchange information with people in person and over the telephone and email.
