What You'll Do
The Tax Information Reporting Analyst is responsible for working with the Tax Information Manager or other leaders to ensure compliance of U.S. tax information reporting and withholding rules and regulations for all of UMB's LOB's, as well as providing tax training and support to LOB's.
Key job responsibilities include:
• Review, validate and processing Forms W-8.
• Assist with annual information tax return (e.g. 1098, 1099, 1042-S) processing.
• Preparation of the Annual Forms 945 and 1042.
• Remittance and reconciliation of withholding tax to the IRS.
• Review new tax legislation related to information reporting and withholding.
• Perform reviews of internal tax policy and procedures for information reporting.
• Research and respond to inquiries from the LOB's surrounding information reporting and OneSource Tax Information Reporting (1099) software application.
• Assist in audits (internal, external and regulatory) surrounding information reporting issues.
• Coordinate and respond to IRS proposed penalties.
Who You Are
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Taxation from an accredited college/university
• 2 years relevant tax experience
Preferred Requirements
• Master's degree in Accounting, Tax or Business or Juris Doctorate
• 2 years Big 4 public accounting experience
• CPA designation

• Knowledge of IRS regulations and reporting responsibilities of financial institutions
• Ability to monitor, analyze and interpret complex federal and state tax laws
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
Work Schedule
Monday-Friday: 8:00am-5:00pm
