OVERVIEW
JLL is currently seeking a Utilities Operator to join our team on our client account in Norwood, MA!
The successful candidate will be at least a Second Class Fireman. Must have experience in utility plant operations including high pressure boilers, chillers and other facilities maintenance activities. This includes but is not limited to following the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the boiler plant; inspecting engineering plant machinery and operation to determine efficiency and need for maintenance requirements; and lubrication of equipment and machinery.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs preventive maintenance on boilers and other base building systems and critical system equipment which includes but not limited to: assembling all tools, supplies and instruments necessary to complete the job, performing work with a minimum amount disruption, conducting immediate cleanup of work area, completing the preventive task sheet, returning tools to workshop, and unused supplies to store room, reporting any impending supply or material shortages to the Operations Manager or Lead Engineer of any equipment problems.Monitors operation and maintains boilers, heating, ventilating and hot water equipment; pumps, valves, piping and filters; other mechanical and electrical equipment; recording readings as necessary to assure proper operation of equipment; responsible for reporting any problems/malfunctions.Maintains tools and orders supplies as required for installation and repairs. Keeps logs, documents equipment repairs, closes work orders, tracks time accurately in reports and provides timely and constant communication with the Operations Manager and Lead Engineer.Complies with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage and disposal of hazardous materials. Maintains a clean and safe work space.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES
High school diploma or state equivalent required and appropriate trade schooling.Minimum 4 years of experience in boiler and utility plant operation. Massachusetts Second Class Fireman license.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Familiar with computer equipment and programs.Skilled in use of tools and machinery required by the position.Knowledge of OSHA standards and local codes.Team player, hard worker, good interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate well in both oral and written reports and have excellent customer service skills.
