Job Summary:
This position reports to the MUFG Americas Reputation Risk Officer and serves as a Subject Matter Expert (“SME”) for reputation risk related laws, regulations, policies, and standards. This position is responsible for supporting all Reputation Risk functions, including the support of the Enterprise Risk Management framework and analytical and reporting requirements. This is a high exposure role interfacing with senior executives.
Responsibilities include:
• Support the identification, measurement and reporting of the MUFG Americas Reputation Risk Management framework.
• Provide support in all aspects of communication, including preparing risk reports, presenting to senior management and the board, and to the shareholder.
• Serve as an SME and Risk contact for Reputation Risk matters for the Americas and respond to related questions from management and staff.
• Assist in development of Reputation Risk Appetite Metrics and Reputation Risk Key Risk Indicators (“KRIs).
• Participate in ongoing reputation risk analysis.
• Assist with the development and implementation of enterprise-wide Reputation Risk training content.
Primary:
Committee Support
• Support the Secretary of the Americas Reputation Risk Committee (“RRC”) which is responsible for the oversight and governance and coordination of reputation risk management in the Americas region with the administration of the Americas Reputation Risk Committee (“RRC”), including:
◦ preparing materials for the RRC meetings.
◦ preparing and coordinating the Committee meetings, including the distribution of documents, taking minutes, maintaining a log of actions/issues, reporting to the Committee on any open action items and following up with members on any deliverables
◦ monitoring conditions set by the Committee and ensuring that an appropriate process is in place for tracking them through to completion
• Participate in regular meetings with the lines of business, as necessary, and the RRC.
• Perform research and negative news review on related clients, sectors or industries that may be presented before the RRC.
Risk Governance
• Assist in the ongoing enhancement and annual update of the Risk Appetite framework including policies, processes, controls and systems for managing the Company’s Risk Appetite framework as it relates to Reputation Risk.
• Work closely with the various Lines of Business in the annual update/refresh and ongoing monitoring requirements of the Risk Appetite framework at this level, including regular reporting for Reputation Risk.
• Manage Reputation Risk Appetite Metrics.
• Assist in enhancing or developing Reputation Risk policies and procedures, metrics and reporting.
Additional Support (backup/ cross-function):
• Provide SME review of new or enhanced Product and Service Risk Assessments (PSRAs) from the Reputation Risk perspective. Provide verbal and written analysis, comments or advice concerning reputation related risks or issues presented by the PSRAs. Work and consult with sponsors and impacted business areas to address Reputation Risks presented by these proposals.
• Maintain a Reputation Risk Register to monitor impacted products and services, including remediation activities and restrictions / conditions.
• Maintain a tracking log for Reputation Risk PSRA reviews.
• Conduct ongoing analysis for the Reputation Risk Monitoring Report.
• Assist with ad hoc projects.
Qualifications
• Undergraduate degree required (B.A./ B.S. or equivalent).
• Minimum of 8 years of work experience with related experience in other areas, preferably financial services industry.
• Knowledge of financial products.
• Knowledge of regulatory environment having an impact on the products and services that the organization offers.
• Experience operating in first or second line functions in financial services.
• Strong research and analytical skills and problem solving capabilities.
• Strong organizational, communication, written, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding and changing environment and under tight deadlines; work well under pressure.
• Ability to multi-task, adapt well to changing priorities and effectively prioritize workflow to meet critical deadlines.
• Ability and willingness to work independently and make decisions.
• Professional certifications, preferred.
• Ability to maintain effective working relationship with regulators externally and key internal stakeholders in a global environment.
• Meeting minutes experience preferred.
• Proficient in Word, Powerpoint and Excel and be able to generate reports and presentations
