The Facilities Manager role is responsible for managing the plant facilities, planning any needed construction, handle the maintenance of equipment machinery or buildings. They are also responsible for planning the budgets, vendor management and schedules facility modifications including estimates on equipment, labor, materials and other related costs.
They would also oversees the coordination of building space allocation and layout as well as any needed facilities expansion. This individual would also manage corporate facilities planning activities, evaluate space requirements based on budgeted personnel and equipment.
They would also be responsible for supervising the maintenance team including coaching and mentoring their staff. They would also be accountable for the team’s performance management and compensation decisions.
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities
• Responsible for managing the planning construction and maintenance of equipment, machinery buildings and other facilities.
• Plans budgets and schedules facility modifications including estimates on equipment ,labor materials and other related costs.
• Oversees the coordination of building space allocation and layout and facilities expansion.
• Manage corporate facilities planning activities.
• Evaluate space requirements based on budgeted personnel and equipment.
• Identify suitable cost effective facilities from available properties.
• Propose building layouts and preliminary budgets for management review and approval.
• Support negotiations with potential landlord to explore options.
• Assist management and corporate attorney in final negotiations.
• Act as point of contact for facilities construction and modifications
• Supervise corporate moves schedule the project and coordinate all elements of move.
• Set up document and implement all facilities contracts and vendor agreements.
• Prepare annual facilities budget for management review and approval.
• Monitor facilities expense and manage to budget.
• Manage ongoing space allocations internal moves modifications and maintenance activities.
• Process all facilities related requests in a timely manner with appropriate approvals.
• Support EHS Department.
• Coordinate and maintain facilities security systems pass codes and keys.
• Establish support and contacts for emergencies and after hour support.
• Other Facilities related tasks as required.
Qualifications
• Strong communication interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Must demonstrate excellent customer service to internal and external customers
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Must be able to effectively approach and prioritize multiple tasks at any given time.
• Previous experience with budgets and vendor negotiations
Education
• Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.
Experience
• Minimum of 10 to 15 years’ experience or equivalent in an industrial/commercial office facility
• Minimum 5+ years supervisory experience including responsibility for Performance Management and compensation decisions
Additional Details (Including Physical requirements)
• Must be able to repetitively lift and carry product weighing approximately 30 Ibs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 Ibs.
