Under minimal supervision, responsible for the successful installation of complex new retirement plan sales, acting as leader, project manager, and consultant for conversion activities. The Conversion Consultant is the primary point of contact with Plan Sponsors, Consultants, Financial Advisors and Third Party Administrators for conversion related activities. #LI-JF1
Primary Responsibilities
1. Responsible for the successful installation of new transfer or start- up retirement plan sales of high complexity, high assets or participant size and works primarily on an exclusive level requiring special handling and excellent knowledge base.
2. Provides Company representation during partner/field on site visits, scheduled meetings, and/or scheduled calls to discuss current issues, problems/solutions, and process changes. Presents to clients for finalist presentations and responds to RFPs.
3. Acts as the project manager and primary contact for Empower during the conversion process. Maintains project plan covering all aspects of the conversion process.
4. Perform weekly conference calls on assigned sales and consults with various client contacts including plan sponsors, consultants, financial advisors, third party administrators, relationship/client service managers, regional sales director’s, prior providers, payroll vendors and various internal departments with respect to the timing of conversion, outstanding items, complex plan features and products, critical tasks and overall project management.
5. Discusses service agreements, contracts and product features with plan sponsors, financial advisors and third party administrators for suitability and comprehension of administrative duties.
6. Review plan provisions with plans electing internal compliance services to ensure accurate restatement of retirement plan documents
7. Facilitate the transfer of plan assets and records though written and verbal communication with prior providers, client contacts and various internal departments
8. Maintain established deadlines and timelines associated with transfer and start-up plan activity
9. Produce quality work on assigned sales through various quality assurance measures.
10. Follow established procedures designed to minimize market risks and gain/loss situations
11. Coordinates transition of clients to Internal Compliance and Client Service Management teams upon installation
12. Assists with mentoring new employees on implementation processes and acts as the go-to person on issues/problems of more junior team members.
13. Must be willing to work extended hours and overtime during peak seasons or high volume.
14. Other duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications
• Series 6 optional, not required
• Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field preferred
• 3-5 years Implementation or related work experience
• Proficient knowledge of various IRS codes; 457, 401(k), 403(b), 401(a), etc.
• Proficient knowledge of IRS/DOL reporting
• Proficient regulatory compliance and plan document knowledge
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong project management skills
• Strong attention to detail required
• Excellent time management
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (interview process includes a writing assessment)
