Job Description
SUMMARY: A Commercial Portfolio Manager II is responsible for overseeing the timely collection of all required corporate and personal financial information from existing borrowers and guarantors subject to annual review and/or covenant compliance as required under BFG Credit Policy. This role also includes the management of BFG Watch List credits, and responding to client requests for collateral releases, modifications, etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties and special projects may be assigned.
• Generate/complete Financial Spreads and required cash flow analysis as needed based on customer information submitted to BFG.
• Conduct timely covenant testing on credit relationships where covenants are required to be tested per the loan and credit agreement and/or credit approval.
• Develop, document and maintain up-to-date departmental procedures related to annual reviews, covenant compliance, the administration of development lines of credit, concept reviews.
• Prepare annual assessments/reviews on all client relationships as determined by BFG Credit Policy.
• Prepare concept reviews for the Executive Management Team and partner with designated Sales/BDO's to assess and understand top 15 concepts by exposure (TCE). Perform reviews of Franchisor Financial Disclosure Documents both for prospective new concepts and for existing concepts with which BFG is active.
• Conduct annual portfolio reviews by concept that combine FDD reviews, client reviews, exposure by concept trends, etc. to assess risk profile of BFG portfolio in each concept.
• Undertake risk rating changes in compliance with BFG Credit Policy.
• Work with BFG administrative staff to develop and maintain system based reporting and monitoring of annual reviews and covenant compliance.
• Manage Syndication Bank relationships on both the Buy and Sell side.
• Provide recommendations to Senior Management on action steps for troubled accounts.
• Identify and manage accounts on Watchlist which are paying as agreed--accounts risk rating 8 or higher.
• Participate in training seminars and workshops to enhance skill level.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: A Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting is preferred, along with at least seven years of related work experience. However, an additional four + years of experience can be substituted for the Bachelor's degree provided that the experience covers prior Credit Analysis/Underwriting experience familiarity with its programs. Previous experience as a Credit Analyst or Credit Manager is helpful.
