Finance Manager – LFO – Global Merchant & Network Services
Description
Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) is the merchant acquirer, processor and marketing partner for the millions of merchants around the world who accept American Express Cards; the business unit also partners with external issuers to offer non-Centurion products on the Amex network. This position is for an LFO Manager who will lead a variety of critical global financial functions for two GMNS lines of businesses: Global Network Operations (GNO) and Network Strategy & Transformation (NS&T). This role will be relied on to directly support the General Managers and is an excellent opportunity for an individual to gain deep knowledge of the Merchant Network business, as well as gain exposure to and insight from senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
• LFO for two lines of businesses within the Global Merchant & Network Services organization, managing the P&L, and forecasting outlooks and annual plans. The two coverage units are:
• Global Business Network – Powering and connecting acquirers and issuers into the Amex Payment Ecosystem, handling the authorizations, settlement, and clearance of card transactions.
• Network Strategy & Transformation – Developing the new American Express Network, improving foundational functionalities, enhancing data / partner / payment capabilities, and incorporating emerging technologies to be further competitive in the rapidly evolving payments landscape.
• Providing thought leadership in meetings and lead presentations to senior leaders and other stakeholders on key strategic initiatives, results and investments.
• Work on ad hoc strategic analytic projects and contribute towards initiatives in conjunction with business partners.
• Conduct Cost Benefit Analyses on potential business initiatives throughout the annual investment optimization plans; act as the lead contact for investment analytics for the lines of businesses.

• Results Leadership: Highly motivated individual with the ability to manage multiple and complex work streams and work across boundaries and deliver a diverse set of initiatives that result in transformational outcomes. Ability to work under pressure and meet aggressive deadlines. Able to work with ambiguity.

• Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or similar professional degree preferred
