Global Commercial Services provides a range of card programs and expense management tools to help large, medium and small businesses around the world manage almost all the facets of their business spending. The GCS Lead Financial Office (LFO) team is responsible for providing financial management, decision support, and planning & results analysis to the Chief Commercial Officer and his direct reports to help achieve BU and AXP financial targets.
This position will act as the ‘data-guru’ for the team supporting the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) organization. It will focus on leading detailed and complex long-term analytical projects, and becoming a center of excellence supporting the broader team. The successful candidate will be expected to both partner with the SME business on their priorities, and self-generate insightful and actionable analytics.
In this role, the Finance Manager will be responsible for:
• Partnering closely with the SME organization, providing deep dive analytics on client level data to influence strategic decisions that drive efficient growth
• Performing ad hoc analysis of charge volume and profitability trends across products/segments and client portfolio to identify key opportunities for business growth
• Leading centralized data-warehousing, sanitation, and optimization efforts
• Acting as ‘internal consultant’ across SME LFO team, responsible for skillset uplifts, and overcoming analytical bottlenecks
• Driving our Sales Incentive planning and reporting efforts, including implementing a longer-term initiative to leverage machine-learning capabilities to automate core processes
Qualifications
• 4+ years of experience
• Experience in SQL/SAS/Hive and data-systems (IDN, Cornerstone, etc.) is strongly preferred, and preference will be given to candidates with such experience
• Self-starter who thrives in fast paced environment
• Confidence to voice opinions, ask questions, and develop a point of view in meetings & conversations with senior executives
• Ability to organize and analyze large amounts of data - advanced Excel skills & detail-oriented
• Strong relationship building skills and capable of driving results across teams
