Job Description
This position is responsible for the timely resolution of complex internal, correspondent, merchant and customer transaction errors in a variety of formats, while adhering to established policies, procedures and regulatory mandates. These claims include, but are not limited to Regulation E and Check Adjustments.
Principal Responsibilities
Reviews and investigates multifaceted incoming adjustments, working with a minimum of three adjustment categories, from various sources to determine the appropriate resolution based on established policies and procedures.
Performs complex corrections to customer and/or general ledger accounts.
Prepares written correspondence to notify customers, merchants and financial institutions of error resolution.
Initiates the collection process with correspondent banks to resolve complex, outstanding cash items.
Prepares and balances daily work in accordance with accounting and auditing procedures.
Reviews daily exceptions on correspondent bank accounts, monitors and tracks the exception items on Fedline.
Assists adjusters with completing ongoing work during times of high volume. Acts as a resource to Adjusters and branch personnel on complex inquiries. Assists with training as needed.
Job Requirements
High School diploma or equivalency required.
2-4 years relevant experience
Effective PC skills, including word processing, internal bank software and industry specific applications.
Effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary to correspond with internal and external customers, including other financial institutions.
Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy in a high volume, fast paced and multi-task environment.
Ability to work with a team and share knowledge and skills.
Ability to use discretion within established guidelines to independently make routine decisions.
Ability to use knowledge of departmental policies and procedures to identify and resolve problems.
