About the Position:
We are seeking individuals who are great leaders of people, know technology, have planned, led and delivered successful integration programs in the past, and love to travel.
Reporting to the Vice President, Mergers & Acquisitions Integrations, you will work as a “player-coach” with a team of subordinate M&A Integration Program Directors responsible for integrating all Hub acquisitions. The role is supervisory, with several direct reports, plus leadership through influence, and peer-to-peer relationships.
Role Description & Responsibilities:
The M&A Integration Program Director, Lead is the primary owner of the M&A deal IT integration program. The role primary responsibility is to supervise all M&A Integration Program Director activities, ensuring proper quality, on time delivery, and appropriate follow-through.
In addition to the supervisory functions, this role will also be leading individual M&A integration programs, working closely with our acquisition candidate companies, developing systems integration plans that allows them to connect into all of the people, process and technology that Hub has to offer their business and clients. The Senior Director, M&A Integration will work collaboratively with our IT, Information Security, Operations and business teams to architect plans, communicate with all stakeholders on progress and manage any issues and risks against a well-defined playbook.
The M&A Integration Program Director, Lead is responsible for:
• the day-to-day leadership of M&A Integration Program Directors
• management of direct reports individual performance
• measuring and taking appropriate action to keep the team capacity properly optimized, through the management of team contractor numbers
• product and process consistency, ensuring that deliverables are high quality and meet organizational standards
• ensuring proper process execution, that all appropriate playbook steps are followed and monitored
• collecting, analyzing and reporting appropriate execution measures, identifying risks and issues and devising appropriate mitigation and resolution actions
• continual improvement of M&A Integration processes and deliverables through execution of a post-mortem feedback loop
• management of the M&A financial estimation and actuals tracking process
• management of staffing vendors
• periodic evaluation of the M&A Integration execution model, and providing recommendations to the VP, M&A Integrations for potential changes
The M&A Integration Program Director, Lead and his/her team, interacts with all stakeholder groups associated with each M&A deal, including the acquisition owners, senior Hub leadership, and every Hub business and technology function, for the entire integration period for each Hub acquisition.
Basic Qualifications:
• Technology professional with over 5 years of experience with integrating infrastructure and applications. Ideal candidate has experience with bringing new acquisitions into a buyer company, familiar with the M&A process steps, due diligence evaluation, estimation and integration execution.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in project-based process and technology delivery roles.
• Minimum 3 years of working in a matrix organization, effectively communicating, collaborating and executing with quality with teams not under direct control.
• designing and delivering a complex people, technology, and process integration program.
• Agent of change mentality: actively seeks and recognizes opportunities to change processes or behaviors to create more value for Hub through integration process improvements, or technology changes.
• Ability to create fact-based financial estimates, and subsequently measure performance against estimate, identify variance, and proactively address issues to keep within budget.
• Experience with managing a services vendor.
• Empathic communicator and collaborator. Seeks to understand.
• Exceptional business writing and speaking skills. Experienced with presenting to C-level executives, and making persuasive, fact-based presentations.
• Organized and detail oriented, with the ability to handle multiple integration programs and priorities concurrently. Has experience delivering multiple (6 or more) complex initiatives concurrently.
• Experience with LEAN/Six-Sigma process optimization, waste reduction principles and improvement projects.
• Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
• Authorized to work in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico.
Desired Qualifications:
• Insurance, brokerage and/or financial services industry experience, particularly with highly acquisitive M&A Integration activity.
• Experience with infrastructure implementations.
• Experience with automated application data conversions and software delivery lifecycle.
• Consulting experience with client-facing responsibilities.
Role Success Measures:
The M&A Integration Program Director, Lead will be measured on how accurately the M&A Integration portfolio is delivered against initial estimates: approach, budgetary and timelines.
S/he will also be measured on stakeholder satisfaction, specifically did the integration experience meet expectations; including how well s/he collaborated across the Hub matrix environment.
