What does a great IT Project Manager do?
The IT Project Manager (ITPM) position is responsible for creating requirement documents (RD) and related documents that clearly communicate to users, software developers, and stakeholders how software will be designed and how it will function. The ITPM will need to have a strong ability to envision processes, new software features and functions that will deliver more value to users and capable to communicate with users throughout the process.
• Develops functional specifications and system design specifications to either expand/enhance user’s issues or needs.
• Works with division users to identify required changes to improve business processes.
• Identifies strengths and weaknesses of proposed designs, software application or function and document improvements.
• Reviews and edits requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to proposed solution.
• Communicates needed changes to development team. Answers questions from development team and modifies design as needed to comply with technical standards
• Test software to ensure that it meets the specifications set forth in the RD.
• Ensure recommended design enhancements function properly and have no negative impacts to other functionality.
• Ensures issues with assigned projects are identified, tracked in CRM, reported on and resolved in a timely manner.
Basic Qualifications for Consideration:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Computer Science or related discipline.
• Excellent verbal and written skills to constantly communicate with end users understand issues and gather requirements.
• Experience in the use of Databases, data structures and spreadsheets.
• Very organized and detailed oriented.
Preferred Skills, Experience, and Education:
• 3 or more years working experience with business support.
• Software Experience: SharePoint, ServiceNow, Excel, Outlook, Word, Communications tool.
