What does a great Windows Systems Administrator, Staff do?
You will be part of a supportive and flexible environment that encourages thinking outside of the box. Working with other members of the Technical Operations team, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, operation and maintenance of Windows Servers, virtualization and additional key supporting infrastructures. You will be part of a local team who will also work very closely with the broader Operations team located in multiple offices.
This position is internally facing and supports other Fiserv associates enabling them to in turn provide world class products and support for our clients. The successful candidate will be provided the opportunity to initially learn, manage and maintain existing infrastructure then branch out to help design and build automation around our existing tasks while also helping to evolve our processes to support the development team’s transition to Agile.
In supporting the existing infrastructure, you will work with a wide range of technologies including but not limited to: Active Directory, Windows Server, System Center Configuration Manager, VMware virtualization, Cisco UCS, Azure and scripting automation. Additional supporting tools utilized in the environment include Cisco VPN, Tripwire Intrusion Detection, Veeam and Veritas backup solutions, Zenoss monitoring, Vormetric encryption and IpSwitch MOVEit products.
The transition to an Agile infrastructure will enable the candidate to help automate and reinvent existing processes both on premise and in the cloud to streamline efficiencies for our team while also providing easily provisioned, idempotent infrastructure for our development teams
The qualified candidate is eligible to be part of an on-call rotation once proficient with the tools and processes of the team.
This ideal candidate will be self-motivated, possess strong troubleshooting skills as well as customer service skills, and be forward thinking, able to work well both on your own and within a group, be organized and continuously striving for excellence in a fast-paced environment supporting multiple internal systems and technologies.
Basic Qualifications for Consideration:
• Education: High School/GED Diploma
• 2 years’ experience working with Microsoft operating systems running on Intel servers and leveraging VMware virtualization and SAN storage.
Preferred Qualifications for Consideration:
• Education is a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical degree
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes
• Automation and scripting proficiency with tools such as Ansible, PowerShell or VBScript
• Familiar with configuration management tools such as Puppet or Chef
• Experience with Agile development methodology
• Strong customer service skills having the ability to work with complex situations with a high level of professionalism
• Self-motivated individual who possesses the ability to work effectively both alone or on a team setting
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
• Ability to leverage network integration and cloud connectivity for both private and public cloud environments
Travel required: Up to 10% per year depending on hiring location

We are responsible for end-to-end delivery of infrastructure and services for nearly 2,000 Fiserv associates across multiple locations. Our Technical Operations teams are primarily located in Lake Mary, FL., Lincoln, NE. and Sioux Falls, SD and are actively working to streamline processes between our locations while continuing to maintain our high level of associate support. You will play an important part in both helping the team manage and improve our existing environment and also helping to steer us towards a more integrated and automated future. Additionally the candidate will help shape our future infrastructure as our development teams actively transition from Waterfall to Agile programming methods.
