Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the successful execution of multiple projects on a division and company-wide basis as part of the Retirement Solutions Division (RSD) Program Management Office. This is accomplished through project management skills and extensive knowledge of business processes, project management methodologies, and data driven analysis.
Assigned projects are typically aligned to strategic goals, are conceptually complex in nature, impact departmental or division-wide operations and processes, and require a significant commitment of resources, which frequently include external resources.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop creative or unique solutions to address business problems
• Consult with Project Sponsors (Senior Business Management) to determine business objectives
• Present findings and recommendations to project team and stakeholders
• Develop a comprehensive plan for each assigned project
• Manage all aspects of a program to execute against the defined plan to deliver the solution
• Manage stakeholders and change management plan to ensure successful adoption
• Facilitate cross-functional working groups
• Manage project status reporting
FACTORS FOR SUCCESS:
• Extensive knowledge of project management methodologies
• 7+ years of full life cycle project management experience in a large corporate or consulting environment
• Ability to translate business requirements and specifications into project scope and identify process and execution implications
• Demonstrated experience successfully managing complex projects on time and on budget in a matrix environment
• Experience providing oversight and guidance for the completion, review and approval of business project deliverables
• Experience defining detailed project roadmaps and plans from high-level business needs
• Ability to plan and direct conceptually complex projects involving all areas of the organization and ensure that goals or objectives of projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding
• Ability to plan and direct projects requiring business process re-engineering and extensive change management
• Experience in leading and directing all levels of project team members, including business and technology resources, to achieve project and program objectives.
• Ability to perform work with minimal management oversight
• Ability to effectively tailor communications to all levels within the organization including Executive Management, including excellent presentation skills
• Financial Services experience preferred
