We are looking for a Senior Accountant in our Plano, TX. location to join our Biz Ops Outsourcing group and work with clients within Physician and Dental practices. In our Business Operations group we provide customized long-term finance and accounting solutions. The Senior Accountantprovides advanced accounting services including preparing financial statements, completing account reconciliations, supports month-end closing process, and drafting financial statements.
• Ability to independently identify problem areas early, research technical issues, and proactively resolve issues as an outsourced member of the clients’ accounting services team.
• Have an understanding of GAAP (FASB/SFAS)
• Complete non-complex and some complex account reconciliations and recording transactions. All facets of monthly, quarterly, and annual adjusting and closing process.
• Prepare and independently review client financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and general ledger. Prepare and review financial and statistical reports, analyzing unusual items on financial reports and notifying accounting services team leaders when necessary.
• Able to prepare and/or review Non-profit tax returns, prepare and review payroll tax, and payroll reports in a timely and accurate manner.
• Assist with projects for audit, due diligence, system selection, and other consulting projects.
• Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of accounting software packages.
• Gain a thorough understanding of the financial operations
Education/Experience
• BA/BS degree in accounting or related field required.
• Experience within Physician and/or Dental Practicesis preferable.
• 3+ years relative work experience as a staff or Senior accountant or equivalent.
• Proficiency and aptitude for applicable software (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, etc).
• Ability to travel to client sites
