Job Description:
The Portfolio Management team is responsible for the implementation of Dimensional’s investment philosophy. They ensure client portfolios continually pursue the targeted premiums, provide traders with buy and sell candidate lists, outline trading parameters, and assist clients to understand Dimensional’s investment practices.
The Associate will be part of the Portfolio Management Operations team and will support the organization’s focus on continuous improvement of the investment process and technology. The Associate will be responsible for understanding the demands of the Portfolio Management department and for coordinating efforts to develop new capabilities and drive global consistency. The individual will work closely with Portfolio Management, Investment Analytics and Data, and Information Technology to help coordinate requirements and prioritize resource allocation.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain an inventory of existing Portfolio Management applications and serve as the central point of contact for new development
• Support the overall prioritization of technology development resources across strategic and tactical demand
• Develop and regularly produce management reports on internal project prioritization and status
• Manage internal project prioritization in alignment with strategic departmental objectives
• Create and maintain development standards for desk developed applications
• Work with account launch team to understand new requirements related to product changes
• Develop in-depth knowledge of the investments process to analyze and identify potential process improvements
• Support ad-hoc projects and analysis
Qualifications:
• A bachelors degree and a strong academic background in an analytical major such as Engineering, Finance, or Economics
• 2-4 years of consulting experience including project management experience is preferred
• Technical experience with SQL, Excel, VBA, and any coding language
• Ability to navigate an organization without formal authority
• Ability to ultimately work independently, to prioritize and exercise time management
• A strong sense of professional and personal integrity and high ethical standards
• Initiative, accountability and focus on quality
