Support and develop sourcing plans for business related categories by translating business objectives into viable spend categories, review strategic supplier relationships, and incorporate best practices to align with company strategies. May be assigned specific sourcing categories such as office services, professional services, claims, information technology, etc.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Translate business objectives into viable spend category sourcing strategies that will drive vendor-related cost and/or quality improvements
• Analyze spend and operations from acquired companies by identifying current methodology and document recommendations to align to best practices
• Contribute to the selection and management of key suppliers through appropriate evaluation, selection, and governance to ensure service quality, relevance, and commercial value
• Participate in regular reviews with suppliers to ensure all terms and conditions are met and that any problems are identified and resolved or mitigated in a timely manner
• Adhere to and maintain standard policies, process, procedures, and best practices to ensure efficient and effective operation of delegated functions and compliance with regulations
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal business stakeholders by networking in order to understand business needs and identify improvement opportunities and manage external vendor relationships on behalf of key stakeholders to maximize business potential
• Participate in cross-functional category teams, actively seek out and incorporate feedback, and maintain knowledge of industry trends, developments, and new technologies to better satisfy customer needs and achieve business goals
• Maintain and interpret spend and savings data to measure supplier performance to identify trends, gaps, and overlaps

Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Experience:
• 2 years relevant experience managing vendors/external suppliers preferred
• Experience analyzing and presenting data
Knowledge:
• Understanding of finance, supply chain, sourcing, and/or procurement (profit and loss, cost centers, GL accounts, purchase orders)
• Knowledge of contract negotiation process
• Knowledge and understanding of RFPs (Request for Proposal), SLAs (Service Level Agreement) and vendor scorecards
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and standard computer software
• Principles and concepts for providing customer service
Skills:
• Skill in Excel including pivot tables, lookups, and macro programming
• Demonstrated Access skills including tables, queries, forms, and reports
• Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, organizational, interpersonal, and project management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Manipulate large volumes of data
• Vendor oversight
• Accurate and thorough approach to budgetary information gathering and proposal preparation

Travel frequency:
• Infrequent (approximately 1-4 trips annually)

• Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is not substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Must have the ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time. Must be able to operate basic office equipment including telephone, headset and computer. Incumbent must be able to lift basic office equipment up to 20 pounds.
