Position Summary
Responsible for performing thorough business risk analysis on all new and existing business partners/products as well as developing and tracking departmental budgeting and other financial analysis projects. Prepare and drive operational metrics in support of key decision making in the deployment of new products and services for the SLT and ELT.
Responsibilities
• Provide financial analysis and business risk analysis on potential new products and services across the product management spectrum, as well as periodic financial, reputational and business risk analysis on all existing products and business partners.
• Assist in the development and presentation of corporate and product related competitive market assessments, which include corporate strategy and product pricing.
• Prepare product and sales material for the Investment Oversight Committee and the Board of Directors Investment Committee.
• Project manager for special projects related to Product Management, specifically focused on product profitability, financial analysis and budgeting.
• Create monthly product sales and in-force reports for all major lines of products.
• Streamline and improve financial and operations reporting processes within the Product Management and Transfer Agency Departments.
• Produce monthly ad hoc reports to support the SVP of Operation’s decision making tasks.
• Support SST with requests related to Morningstar Direct
Education
• Bachelor's degree required, with a preferred emphasis on finance, accounting or business.
• MBA or advanced degrees in related fields is strongly preferred
Work Experience
• 3+ years of investment/Financial Services related industry experience
• At least 3 years of experience in financial analysis and/or accounting
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Ability to interpret and communicate effectively to senior management, financial analysis and business risk issues
• Must possess very strong analytical and research skills with the ability to draw inferences from a broad range of information.
• Must be capable of exercising judgment in determining the degree of business, reputational, and litigious risk to First Command from the volumes of information available in the public domain.
• Must be able to consolidate research results into a concise summary for senior management review.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Ability to set priorities and manage deadlines
• Must be detail oriented and pro-active in attaining information on products and services
• Heavy excel and PowerPoint usage
