Senior Manager, Business Resilience and Continuity - Tempe
This is a senior functional leadership position responsible for managing the development and execution of plans and programs designed to mitigate the operational effects of business disruptions. This position will be assigned a portfolio of business divisions to support and will be primarily responsible for the leadership of our Business Continuity lifecycle with those divisions.
The individual works with the firm's Business Continuity Management Director and other members of the BCM Department in the daily coordination and support of other divisions in their BCM activities and assigned projects, as needed. The individual needs to maintain and continue the functions of the BCM Department and the BCM Program (back-up role), during normal and abnormal circumstances, in the event of the absence or lack of availability of the BCM Director. This may include leading the execution of firm and department crisis management plans when Department Sr. Leaders are not available as a result of an incident.
Key Responsibilities include:
• Leading the development and implementation of actionable incident and crisis management plans for events affecting our Tempe, AZ Campus and other geographic locations, as assigned
• Working with business owners and leaders to design, implement, and maintain Business Resilience and Continuity Plans as well as to ensure plans are validated for critical firm functions
• Coordinate with their assigned divisions to ensure operational preparedness as well as ensure regulatory compliance
• Develop and coordinate the implementation of planning and testing requirements with 3rd party service and product providers
Position Qualifications:
Education/Certification
• Bachelors Degree in a risk, business, technology or related field is required. Advanced degree or certification(s) in Risk Management related field is preferred.
• Certified Business Contingency Planner (CBCP) or Member of the Business Continuity Institute (MBCI) or willingness to obtain such certification preferred.
Years of Relevant Experience
• Minimum of 8 years' experience in Risk Management, Business Resilience or Continuity Planning, or related work experience.
Functional Skills
• Demonstrated ability to apply operational risk management principles to business and technology processes.
• Demonstrated application of crisis and incident management practices in a business environment.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement resilience and continuity processes to support business requirements.
• Demonstrated direct and cross-functional team leadership skills.
• Ability to understand (or learn) 3rd party business functions as well as the Information Systems functions relating to the 3rd party business functions and services is required.
• Ability to work with Geographic and Division BCP Liaisons to develop and conduct training, exercising and testing of Resilience and Continuity Plans across the firm.
• Understanding of the BCP regulatory requirements that are applied to the Financial Services Industry.
• Project management and organizational management skills
• Demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment.
• Ability to communicate (verbal and written) with all levels of management and stakeholders, to include highly complex models and business concepts at the most senior levels throughout the firm and with external service providers
