What do you do?
Director of IT Operations is responsible for the creation, maintenance and management of IT infrastructure architecture models and their lower level operations components. They are also required to interpret, use and apply information contained within IT architecture to inform a range of business improvement activities, particularly those involved in the design, development, enhancement and maintenance of IT support systems.
The Director of IT Operations is expected to ensure that the overall IT systems and infrastructure is operated and maintained in a coherent manner and that appropriate considerations are made for availability, scalability, security and quality. The primary role of this role is to define and ensure that the respective business, application, data and technology perspectives are in line with the organization’s infrastructure technology and governance strategies, policies and standards.

Job Description
• Manages all aspects of IT operations and systems support
• Recommends and participates in activities related to the design, development and maintenance of the Enterprise Architecture (EA).
• Maintains IT infrastructure budget
• Leads and maintains infrastructure initiatives and projects
• Manage, use and maintain IT/technology architecture models for Operational, Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence environments.
• Researches overall ICT (information and communication technology) solutions on the market for particular technical requirements and business needs.
• Implement Cloud strategy for the development of IT/technology architecture work
• Conducts and/or actively participates in meetings related to the designated project/s, both locally and internationally, with clients and/or partners.
• Advises and recommends enterprise architecture and cloud strategies, processes and methodologies.
• Implement the strategy for the development of IT/technology architecture Work.
• Recommends and participates in the analysis, evaluation and development of enterprise long-term strategic and operating plans to ensure that the EA objectives are consistent with the enterprise’s long-term business objectives.
• Share best practices, lessons learned and constantly update the technical system architecture requirements based on changing technologies, and knowledge related to recent, current and upcoming vendor products and solutions.
• Participates in and manages Architecture Working Groups for the development and maintenance of the EA.
• Collaborates with all relevant parties in order to review the objectives and constraints of each solution and determine conformance with the EA. Recommends the most suitable technical architecture and defines the solution at a high level.
• Recommends and participates in the development of architecture blueprints for related systems.
• Identifies and recommends areas appropriate for further study and participates in any Proof of Concept projects required to thoroughly investigate architectural possibilities and strengthen arguments for their adoption.
• Identifies implementation risks and analyses potential impact on the enterprise and on the achievement of scheduled objectives.
• Participates in the design and implementation of IT service management standards, tools and methodologies.
• Design, implement and maintain procedures relating to service catalogue and/or service level management activities
• Accountable for the identification, management and mitigation of all risks that have the potential to impact the department and business’ objectives, including ensuring our customers receive fair outcomes
• Foster a risk aware culture, promoting an open and proactive approach to risk management and respond accordingly to risk related escalation
• In good time, escalate all significant risk related developments to the leadership team for awareness and opportunity to support resolution.
• Be aware and comply with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements
• Responsible for the identification, management and mitigation of all Infrastructure risks that have the potential to impact the business’ objectives, including ensuring our customers receive fair outcomes.
• Be risk aware, taking an open and proactive approach to risk management and escalate all risk related issues to management for awareness and opportunity to support resolution
• Be aware and comply with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
Education
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineer or equivalent industry experience and certifications.
• Certification in two or more of the following areas:
◦ MCSE, MCSD, MCTS, CCNA, Java, Linux, Oracle
Experience
• Minimum of 10+ Years in a similar role (e.g. Sr solutions architect/ technical lead, application architect) within a Financial Services company.
• Minimum 15+ Years IT industry experience.

• The Director, IT Operations will manage a culturally diverse Operations team; potentially across different locations
• Manage IT Business relationships for multiple brands
• Manage the technology Infrastructure strategy and roadmap for an entire business unit
• Interface with Delivery Management, Infrastructure, QA team and business customers for planning, execution and support
• Troubleshooting production issues that are business impacting, including timely and appropriate communication to stakeholders in IT and the business
• Evaluate, learn and implement emerging trends in technology and participate in industry and vendor seminars and foster an environment of continuous improvement
