Description
The lower segment of Business Banking serves the banking needs of businesses with less than $3 million in revenue. As a Market Manager, you will pro-actively operate at the heart of the local business community, where you will you will provide leadership, supervision, direction and guidance to a team of approximately 10-15 Relationship Managers driving Small Business deposit, credit, treasury management & portfolio management performance across a defined geography. You will be responsible for achieving customer experience, sales growth and retention expectations through effective coaching and managing to the Santander Business Banking sales process and sales management routines. The Market Manager will drive accountability around individual sales activities and expectations for your Relationship Manager team. You will manage the sales & credit pipeline for your market and provide support to team members on credit sales and processes. Market Managers will be responsible for hiring and developing skills and competencies of their team, while maintaining optimum staffing occupancy. Finally, you will be responsible for fostering strong collaborative partnerships with cross functional business lines including the retail branch network. As part of your day to day, you will be expected to conduct monthly 1:1 performance coaching, partnership meetings, joint business appointments with your team and identify opportunities to acquire new customers and deepen existing relationships. Responsibilities
• Facilitates Necessary Market Training.
• Effectively supports training relationship managers, as needed, around key Product, Market and Network initiatives, particularly cash management & business credit.
• Serves as a subject matter expert on key Small Business Products, Processes, Region, and Network.
• Align Support Activity with Local Leadership and Fosters Key Partner Collaboration.
• Communicate weekly with District Executives.
• Collaborate with key business partners (including Cash Management, Merchant and Payroll representatives) to drive optimal levels of product/service cross-referral activity.
• Credit Sales and Transaction Management.
• Drives Small Business credit sales and process excellence by supporting credit appeals, renewals, application inspection, and being part of commercial mortgage sales process.
• Ensure compliance with all necessary regulations by providing oversight over key activities.
• Ensure all required training is completed by team.
• Drive the completion of local market-related compliance or remediation activities.
• Drive sales results with emphasis on portfolio growth, new customer acquisition and credit.
• Accountable for customer acquisition, client experience, cross-sell, activation, and retention.
• Manage Business Banking Relationship Managers.
• Provide coaching for portfolio management routines, sales process and prospecting activities
Qualifications
• BS degree in Business Administration Finance or related field
• 12 - 15 years of experience in Sales and Relationship Management
• Business Banking or Business lending Between 12 -15 years
• 5+ years of experience in Banking Sales Management
• Advanced business development skills with broad market knowledge and presence
• Advanced knowledge of business credit underwriting
• Advanced understanding of business credit, deposit and cash management products and services
• Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills with individuals at all levels, internally and externally
• Extensive experience in hiring, developing and retaining a high performing sales team
• Outstanding ability to build relationships with customers and develop partnerships across business lines
• Prior Direct management experience required
• Proven ability to build, coach and motive teams to drive Small Business performance within a designated area
• Proven track record to successfully work with internal partners to identify coaching opportunities and driving consistent sales behaviors
• Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers, improving customer satisfaction to achieve divisional goals to significantly increase market share,
• Strong PC skills, CRM a plus
• Strong coaching and leadership experience
