Position Overview
The Marketing & Customer Experience team works with all departments across the Multifamily Division to coordinate marketing activities for our customers, including direct email communications and informational materials, our website, customer education, and the conferences and events we host, as well as our presence at industry conferences and events.
We are seeking a dynamic, self-starter who is detail-minded, organized, and hands-on; someone who is outgoing with good people skills and customer service experienced. The ideal candidate should be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines, work individually, manage a planning team, contribute to group efforts and collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including customers and executives.
This position is responsible for planning and implementation of marketing programs and/or projects, often as project leader, that support Multifamily objectives for customer education, networking opportunities, customer satisfaction, and volume goals. Identifies and develops new marketing program opportunities. Works individually or with a team to develop marketing plans, estimate costs, prepare budgets, and manage program and project budgets. Interacts with senior staff and senior customer personnel. Coordinates across organizational lines.
Provides resolutions to an extensive range of complicated problems. Solutions are innovative, thorough, and practicable. Works under limited direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Work is evaluated during the planning time and upon completion for adequacy in satisfying objectives.
Your work falls into three primary categories:
Program management and planning
• Act as Program Manager to plan and execute a variety of meetings and events (10-300 person) and supporting the planning and execution of larger conferences and events (up to 1,500 person)
• Understand the goals and needs of an event and manage a team to plan, coordinate, or oversee all aspects of the event
• Prepare and manage program/project budget
Execution
• Work with Multifamily Marketing/Communications, Customer Education, the Design Studio, Corporate Events, Reprographics and Shipping departments, and external vendors
• Contribute to Cvent programming, including providing event details, running registration and attendance reporting
• Coordinate external communications with the Marketing/Communications team
• Provide onsite support at conferences and events, including registration desk support and coordination with hotel staff
Support
• Maintain annual conference calendars and Multifamily Events mailboxes, including sending invitations and replying to emails
• Maintain Multifamily Conferences and Event SharePoint calendar and its event request work flow
• Work with vendors to research and purchase conference premiums and customer gifts
Qualifications
• Typically has at least seven years of relevant meeting and event project management experience
• Customer service orientation and experience, including working with senior executives
• Experience dealing with external vendors and service providers and coordinating their activities
• Demonstrated experience in determining objectives, developing plans to achieve them and leading execution including experience with budgeting and expense resolution
• A history of successfully self-starting and working in a collaborative and creative group environment with dynamic roles
• Direct or indirect people management experience
• Willingness to travel in the United Stated on a regular basis
