Description
As a member of the Creative Services team, the Senior Copywriting Specialist will be responsible for collaborating with peers on conceptual development and the drafting / editing of copy for various types of promotional, financial and/or internally focused materials and other written or verbal communications (e.g. speeches, presentations).
He/she will ensure that copy is consistent with the tone of Prudential and overall strategic goals of the Annuities organization. The incumbent will also be responsible for coordinating assignments with staff in product, design, project management, marketing management or others to assure quality and timeliness of marketing materials.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced marketing copywriter with 5+ years of corporate and / or agency experience. Demonstrated success creating innovative marketing concepts -- both visually and verbally -- as well as executing integrated, 360⁰ campaigns. The candidate should also have extensive digital and content marketing experience. Experience writing copy for annuities, Life insurance or other financial services products – within different advisor channels including independent, bank, wire, IMO and RIA channels -- is a plus. Familiarity with Agile workflow methodologies is also a plus.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in English, communications, advertising, marketing, public relations, journalism or similar.
• 5+ years of professional experience in marketing, advertising, communications or public relations
• Strong conceptual skills and experience collaborating with design partners, SMEs and others within a professional work environment
• Strong copywriting / copyediting skills for a variety of audiences, both consumer and B2B
• Ability to develop innovative solutions for a broad range of marketing initiatives including sales materials, direct marketing, email marketing, advertising, event marketing, web content, videos, mobile platforms, social media and other marketing vehicles
• Capable of managing multiple assignments simultaneously and coordinating with peers in project management, product, design, proofreading, marketing management, legal/compliance to assure quality, timeliness of marketing materials.
• Ability to provide strategic input on creative briefs when needed
• Ability to conduct research autonomously, and sift through any provided source materials, to distill and fully flesh out the story flow on assignments
• Assuring that content and materials are simple, clear, engaging and are consistent with the tone and design of the Prudential brand
• Excellent presentation, collaboration and interpersonal communication skills
• Comfortable working independently with minimal direction
• Organized, detail orientated, dependable with a positive attitude
• Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Word, PowerPoint and Excel
• Ability to travel as needed (typically 5-10%)
• A portfolio of previous work that demonstrates concepting capabilities, as well as copywriting / copyediting skills for both consumer and B2B audiences in a variety of media
(Preferred)
• Variable annuity, life insurance or other financial services product experience – within different advisor channels including independent, bank, wire, IMO and RIA channels
• Familiarity with Agile workflow methodologies is a plus
• Familiarity with Email marketing best practices and platforms (Exact Target, Eloqua or other top-tier email platforms)
• Social media experience
• Familiarity with ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) requirements
• Familiarity with Annuities / Life Insurance regulatory requirements
