Position Overview
Freddie Mac’s Finance division is currently seeking a Risk and Performance Analytics Manager to be part of the Investments and Capital Markets CFO department. The Investments and Capital Markets CFO department is responsible for financial accounting and reporting, portfolio risk and profitability analysis, pricing and valuation activities, and financial planning & analysis for Freddie Mac’s Capital Markets segment. The hired individual will be responsible for managing a team of analysts to develop insightful analysis and reporting on the risk, performance, and activity of Freddie Mac’s Retained Portfolio.
Responsibilities include:
•Managing the preparation of analysis and reporting on:◦The firm’s interest-rate risk position and hedging strategies
◦The sensitivity of financial results to interest-rate changes and other market factors
◦The impact of strategies and accounting treatments on the interest-rate risk sensitivity of GAAP results
◦GAAP and Fair Value profitability of financial instruments
◦Retained portfolio activities and investment strategies
◦Portfolio and financial forecasts
•Interacting with portfolio managers within the Investments and Capital Markets division on portfolio activities, market conditions, and results
•Managing and developing project timelines, policies and procedures, risk controls and other ad hoc requests
•Reviewing work prepared by staff
•Developing staff
•Managing the preparation of presentations delivered to senior management and the Board of Directors
Qualifications
•Minimum of 8 years of experience in fixed income, financial services, and/or financial analysis
•Secondary mortgage markets and derivatives experience
•Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related degree
•Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Microsoft PowerPoint and the aptitude to learn other software
•Proficiency with SQL
•Ability to multi-task
•Strong attention to detail
Strong problem-solving capabilities
Preferred Skills
•MBA or related advanced degree
•CFA, CPA or related certifications
•Experience managing a team
