New York Life (a Fortune 100 company, as well as one of Fortune’s 2017 World’s Most Admired Companies), is seeking an ambitious Marketing Coordinator to help manage marketing efforts relating to our Retail Annuities product line. For the past decade, New York Life has been a leader in the annuity space, and currently ranked the #1 provider of income annuities, fixed deferred annuities, and variable annuities sold with principal protection.
The Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the Product Marketing team develop and execute strategies, content, materials, and campaigns to enhance the marketing of our annuity products. Not only are these products strategically important to New York Life’s position as a leader in the retirement market, they’re also designed to help retirees live a more secure and fulfilling retirement. The Marketing Coordinator will play an integral role in helping to craft and disseminate this important story.
Applicants must have experience communicating complex ideas to senior management, collaborating within a highly “matrixed” organization, and balancing a multitude of projects concurrently. Ideal candidates will embrace teamwork, have strong writing skills, own a keen eye for detail, and possess an ability to approach challenges creatively.
A more detailed list of roles and responsibilities include:
• Execute on all activities related to the development of actionable sales ideas and effective marketing materials, seminars, tools, videos, and communications to help drive annuity sales
• Help develop and coordinate digital marketing campaigns (email, social media) to help drive annuity sales, working in close collaboration with Sales, Relationship Management, Legal, Design, Production, and Digital teams
• Assist with the development and design of sales presentations through the effective use of PowerPoint
• Partner with Compliance team to submit marketing material for review and manage workflow of changes to obtain approval
• Manage current library of annuity marketing resources, ensuring materials are kept current for compliance purposes and are updated or revised to ensure adherence with compliance standards
• Participate in weekly Product Management meetings to stay abreast of broader business initiatives and product changes that affect our marketing resources
• Work with Annuity Product Managers to ensure a timely and successful deployment of Field News communications
• Submit marketing material to Graphic Design teams and manage versions/edits through completion
• Monitor daily warehouse inventory reports to ensure sufficient quantities of marketing literature is available for order; partner with warehouse reps to proactively re-print low inventory
• Proofread marketing content to ensure it’s free of typos or inaccuracies
Required and/or desired qualifications:
• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of related work experience
• A solid understanding of the financial services industry (knowledge of the retirement landscape and/or annuity products is a huge plus)
• Strong business and creative writing skills
• Excellent PowerPoint skills is a MUST
• An eye for branding, design, and formatting
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Strong communication skills
• The ability to work independently on projects and work in a team environment with flexible parameters
• A self motivated, results-oriented individual with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with tight deadlines
