Responsibilities
The Financial Counselor I will work with prospective and current retail individual investor customers by providing education and assistance with investment and risk-based solutions based on the customer’s needs. Provide education and assistance to former participants during the benefit event process including facilitation with any necessary or associated transactions to help the customer complete their request. These functions will be achieved via inbound and outbound calls and other forms of electronic communication.
Additional responsibilities will include:
• Provide benefit event education to former participants, those in the Personal Retirement Account or those approaching a benefit event, providing education and assistance on the options available to them. This will include the retention of assets and offering additional product solutions to our customers.
• Provide education and assistance to perspective customers who are interested in engaging with Principal for their individual investment and risk based needs. This may include facilitation of any requested transaction or introduce them, when appropriate to another team.
• Provide assistance to existing retail customers regarding their account and assist with identification of their investment and risk based needs. This may include facilitation of any requested transaction.
• Provide education and assistance to those in targeted customer communication programs.
• Assist in uncovering current or potential retail customer needs
• Perform other job-related duties and projects as needed.
Qualifications:
Skills required:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent of 8 years’ experience.
• 2+ years’ experience in the financial services industry.
• Series 6, Series 63, Series 7, and Resident Life and Health must be attained
within 1 year of employment.
Successful candidates will have the following:
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong analysis, organizational, and relationship building skills.
• Ability to work independently.
Work Hours:
The scheduled work hours for this position will be a 8 hour shift between 7:00am- 9:00pm Monday - Friday
Shift Differential:
This position will provide a shift differential for hours worked.
