What does a great Director of Data Center Operations do at Fiserv?
You’ll report directly to the Vice President – Command Centers and will have direct and indirect management responsibility for a staff of over 200 employees with the primary goal of minimizing service restoration time for incidents within the production environment.
You’re the kind of person who has:
Experience working in a large enterprise environment and be able to gain support and drive consensus with multiple stakeholders.
Current with best-in-class industry practices and will implement operational processes and techniques to proactively respond to events prior to service impact. T
Accountability to operate and continuously improve the Incident Management processes within the scope of the command center.
Technical background that includes a primary understanding of virtualization, storage and networking concepts including routing, load balancing and firewalls.
Hands-on experience with a major technical discipline that includes having led an engineering team at the Director level
Experience troubleshooting and analyzing complex technical issues associated with complex heterogeneous infrastructures spanning multiple technical disciplines
Ability to effectively communicate with technical resources understanding the technical nomenclature associated with various technology stacks
Ability to effectively manage multiple concurrent situations
Ability to handle multiple, complex issues with the appropriate amount of urgency and temperament
Ability to communicate effectively with senior leaders, employees, vendors and clients on complex technical issues in both written and verbal forms
Strong process-orientation; capable of creating and implementing replicable and effective procedures
Ability to build and grow cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment
Ability to work flexible and extended work hours as dictated by operational issues
Strong functional understanding of various IT platforms including distributed web applications, high-volume transactional databases, networks and security devices
Qualifications for Consideration:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or high school diploma/GED
•Minimum of 10 years IT Operational experience, with at least five years’ experience in a similar role involving critical situation management and executive communications
•Experience managing in a matrixed organization
•General management capabilities including HR functions related to the management of associates
Preferred Qualifications For Consideration:
technical certifications such as CCNP, CISSP, or GIAC a plus
