Position Overview

The Model Audit team is currently seeking a Quantitative Analytics Intern who will assist with the mission of the Internal Audit Division to provide independent, objective, assurance and consulting services designed to add value and improve operations. The Model Audit team audits a wide range of predictive and analytic models, the governance over models and the business processes using those models. The team maintains a range of skill sets by including a mix of generalists and model specialists.
Responsibilities include:
• Analyze quantitative models that assess the market, credit and/or operational risks of new and existing financial and mortgage products or portfolios to support business and risk decisions.
• Research model-related audit topics, such as:
• Sensitivity analysis of complex models
• Identification of model limitations
• Performance monitoring
• Contribute to developing a code analytics library for evaluating models in SAS, MATLAB, R or Python
• May support model audits and finding follow-ups
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• Working towards a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in data science, applied mathematics, economics, financial engineering, physics, econometrics, finance, engineering, statistics, or computer science or related quantitative discipline
• Programming skills in SAS, R, Matlab, Python and/or C++
Preferred Skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Experience building and/or validating econometric models
• Knowledge of or experience in capital markets, asset and liability management, general understanding of primary and secondary mortgage market, or counterparty risk
• Big 4 consulting or auditing experience
• Familiarity with the role of Internal Audit and SOX controls
