Job Description
ABOUT THE JOB (JOB BRIEF)
The Treasury Operations Department performs processing and reporting re: portfolio, collateral management, funding (including liabilities), and safekeeping transactions. Treasury Ops is primarily responsible for supporting various Lines of Business for Key and its affiliates. Portfolio functions include fixed income securities (i.e. bonds) trade settlement and related incoming principal and income processing. Funding functions include Key debt issuances, principal and interest payments, and monitoring of overall cash position at the FED. Collateral functions include pledging of securities for the benefit of various Key contracts and public deposits . The Treasury Ops team uses the Sungard (FIS) Intrader database system to help accomplish the above daily tasks. The department prepares periodic managerial, financial and regulatory reports. This position supports daily production needs, project work, problem solving, system access requests, reporting and supervision of associates along with the department manager.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The position involves rotation through the department, crosstraining on all desks with procedures and associates to build bench strength and accomplish department objectives. The position supports production during peak volume periods and times of absence. This Team Lead role includes supervisory responsibilities including assisting with complex problems, reviewing work and re-allocating resources when necessary. The role calls for a champion of Continuous Improvement and Digitization. The team lead is also responsible for improving existing operational processes and procedures. The role requires someone willing to seek out solutions. The position involves active participation in department projects and engaged communication with various LOB’s.The role also calls for working independently with technology partners to define, communicate and test requested changes/enhancements.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance and/or equivalent work experience with fixed income securities in an Operations environment.
• Strong working knowledge of accounting for fixed income investments (i.e. bonds).
• Aptitude to learn and understand financial concepts for a wide variety of products.
• Effective communication skills and active engagement in partnering with associates, internal/external clients, various Lines of Business (LOB’s), technology partners, financial and regulatory reporting, and risk reviewers/auditors.
• Ability to lead multiple projects and prioritize work for self and others.
• Attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness under deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Ability to generate ideas beyond the status quo. Demonstration of openness to others’ ideas.
• Consistent positivity, flexibility and composure in partnering with associates, management and various LOB’s.
