Responsibilities:
The Internal Sales Specialist(ISS) is responsible for pricing and competitively positioning new business proposals in the region through expert analysis and screening of bid specifications, consultation with sales and account management on underwriting guidelines, proactive communication and follow up with brokers and internal partners, and data entry into our proprietary rating engine. This position may also assist with broker education activities and may make periodic onsite visits to a broker’s office, in partnership with sales representatives.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, plus at least 2 years of experience required (experience with group ancillary benefits preferred).
• Must obtain Life & Health licenses within 3 months (active license preferred).
• Must maintain licenses by meeting continuing education requirements.
• Requires broad understanding/ maintaining knowledge of insurance operations, products, and concepts with the ability to apply marketing strategies and systems.
• Requires strong planning, organizational, problem solving and time management skills with the flexibility to adjust to changing priorities.
• Must have good oral and written communication skills plus the ability to develop effective relationships and motivate producer behavior.
• Must have excellent computer and keyboarding skills.
• Must have excellent Excel skills as well as MicroSoft Office knowledge.
• Must work well under pressure and be self-directed.
• Must have sales aptitude and drive to compete for business.
• Some travel may be required including overnight stays (5%).

This role will be based in our Phoenix, AZ field sales office.
