The Opportunity:
Our IT Department is now seeking a highly talented Database Administrator to join our team. This individual will primarily work on database administration responsibilities and may be tasked with the support of Fisher Investments database applications. This position can be located in our San Mateo, CA, office (near San Francisco, CA) or Camas, WA, office (near Portland, OR). This will be a contract-to-hire or direct hire opportunity.
The Day-to-Day:
• Ability to manage day-to-day database administration activities
• Installation and configuration of SQL servers
• Configuring and monitoring log shipping/Mirroring/Always On
• Setting up and managing SQL replication
• Installing, configuring and managing SQL clusters
• Taking backups and restores
• Writing good T-SQL code and doing code reviews
• Performance tuning and problem resolution
• Code migration among different environments
• Implementation of database security
Your Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, Math, or other Science field, or equivalent combination of education/experience
• Has 7+ years of experience in SQL 2012 and SQL 2016 development and administration
• Good knowledge in SSIS and SSRS
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• In-depth understanding of SQL architecture
• Good understanding of replication topologies and components
• Working knowledge of SQL clustering and availability groups
• Logical and physical design experience
• Experience in both OLTP and Data warehousing environments
• Good experience in implementing operational automation through SQL tools and PowerShell
• Ability to work with multiple developers and effectively handle multi-tasking
• Sharp, self-motivated, and keen to learn new technologies and tools
• Excellent, proven troubleshooting and problem resolution skills
• Experience with software development life cycle and financial industry experience a plus
