The Director of Off-Platform Advice (OPA) Operations develops the roadmap to scale the off-platform managed account product (PASW), including technology-enabled improvements as well as process changes, so the business can reach its significant growth targets with minimized risk exposure. The Director will be responsible for leading the development of product enhancements; and will be the business lead in driving requirements development, building the enhancements, and rolling them out to the marketplace. The Director will also serve as the Pricing, Fees and Billing expert within the OPA business and will play point on all questions or issues that arise related to fees or billing across PASW.
The Expertise We’re Looking For
• Bachelor’s Degree
• 10 plus years of financial services experience, including planning, guidance, managed account services or other asset allocation products.
• Experience with DC plan implementations and recordkeeping systems strongly desired
• Experience with defined contribution plans and 401(k) operations
• Understanding of financial markets, including financial planning concepts; and knowledge of or experience with the Fidelity Non-Discretionary Advice and Guidance Tools desired
The Purpose of Your Role
PASW is a rapidly-growing and complex product offering, and the OPA Operations team is relied upon by many different groups to ensure the scalability of the platform. The team has varied roles, managing technical enhancements to optimize the product, triaging and resolving any issues that arise, and acting as general subject matter experts to a wide range of stakeholders. On any given day, you might interact with Strategic Advisers, Fidelity Clearing and Custody (FCCS), Client Experience and Fidelity Institutional Asset Management (FIAM).

The Value You Deliver
• Serve as champion and subject matter expert on OPA managed accounts, providing business leadership with the support of the OPA Business Team, in partnership with business unit Product Management and other key stakeholders including Distribution, Legal/Risk/Compliance, Strategic Advisers, and Managed Advisory Solutions Technology Group
• Serve as business lead for key product development efforts supporting operational stability and scalability: define objectives for product enhancements and provide leadership to broad development team (including technology, project management, Strategic Advisers, and other key business partners), provide direction for business requirements and prioritization, serve as product SME, and providing business leadership for build and implementation. Interface with key partners including Strategic Advisers, project management, client management, technology, asset management, and marketing/participant experience teams.
• Support and provide business direction for technology projects to stabilize and scale the PASW platform: opportunity sizing, business requirements and prioritization, scalability/stability impact, budgets, stakeholder support and communication and interaction with all supporting functions including marketing, legal, systems, product and associate readiness.
• Work with internal stakeholders on client fit, functionality and enablement.
• Support sales and contracts to determine ability for business to support client requests.
• Partner with FI Operations to identify and execute improvements to key business processes (e.g., pricing, re-pricing, contracts, etc.) and a stronger quality program in support of rapid growing business
• Coordinate with legal all updates or changes to required documents (i.e. ADVs)
• Serve as subject matter expert on PASW pricing, incentives, fees, billing and the fee credit mechanism.
◦ Drive all product development efforts related to pricing, incentives, fees or billing.
◦ Understand and represent business requirements both inside and outside of the team; represent the fees and billing point of view throughout multiple channels and products
◦ Work with sales, marketing and participant adoption teams to identify opportunities to enhance pricing, incentives, fees and billing to drive greater adoption and improved scalability. Provide business requirements for platform development and implementation
◦ Be highly conversant in the fee credit conceptual design including key data inputs and systems
◦ Manage pricing, incentives, fees, and billing documentation; ensure relevant documents get updated as product enhancements are implemented
• Leverage expertise to address inquiries or potential issues related to billing or fee crediting
◦ Address inquiries from internal constituents, clients or participants (through appropriate channels; non-client facing)
◦ Support sales and contracts with questions related to fee credits
◦ Participate in research, analysis and resolution of potential fee or crediting issues
◦ Serve as liaison to existing QA efforts for fee validation; stay current with regular monthly fee validation and monitor error reports
