Goldman Sachs Asset Management is looking for a Large/Mid-Cap focused Financial Services Sector Portfolio Manager to join the US Fundamental Equity team. The Fundamental Equity team manages strategies across the market cap spectrum, in most emerging and developed markets. We leverage the full spectrum of intellectual capital across GSAM’s global platform, while benefitting from the local insights, deep expertise, and focused research of our investment teams. The team manages nearly $60bn in assets under supervision with a diversified client base, including institutional and individual investors. With over 60 Portfolio Managers/Analysts located in 6 global offices including New York, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Singapore, Mumbai and Sao Paulo, our locally-based investment teams conduct hands-on research for a broad range of portfolios.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
The sector PM’s responsibilities include building and maintaining financial models, conducting valuation analysis (comps, DCF, IRR, Merger models, private market value), writing investment briefs and presentations, conducting company/industry due diligence, meeting with management teams and industry participants in office and at industry conferences and directly manage a portion of our Russell 1000 portfolio. Candidates should have strong accounting backgrounds and valuation skills in addition to being decisive, proactive, and collaborative.
Responsibilities:
• Interview and assess company managements
• Maintain company models
• Statistical analysis of economic data, fundamentals, and relevant correlations of the data
• Update and maintain target and valuation sheets
• Review 10Qs/Ks/annual reports
• Market share, macro trend, and cross company and sub sector data analysis
• Company specific projects
Basic Qualifications
• 10-15 years related experience
• Strong modeling, analytical and quantitative skills
• Strong writing and communication skills
• Proven track record a meaningful plus
