Job Description
The Property Reporting Specialist will be an integral member of the Property Administration/Property Management Team and will report to the Property Administration Manager. You will be assisting and preparing Financial Reports to Head Office, as well as, Stakeholders. This position is responsible for ensuring accuracy and completeness of all assigned reporting. You will actively participate in assisting with the operational budgeting and the forecasting process.
As a Property Reporting Specialist, you will:
• Prepare detailed analysis, reporting, and commentary for Stakeholders including working as a key contributor in preparing variance commentary and rent roll analysis for the Property Administration and Property Management team.
• Work as an integral team member of the Property Administration and Property Management team to understand property operations in detail, and translate operations information into reporting and commentary.
• Provide support to team members on reporting, financial, and management reporting processes and communicate information required to produce timely and accurate reporting.
• Provide assistance to the Property Administration and Property Management team by monitoring cost control projects on a monthly basis to ensure dedications and budgets are on track.
• With the cooperation and advice of the Property Administration Manager and Property Management team, contribute to the preparation of the property annual operating plan, quarterly and/or monthly forecasts.
• Review all quarterly and budget reports for accuracy, consistency and reporting requirements.
You will bring and continuously build upon the following skills:
• 3 -5 years of Commercial Real Estate knowledge required, preferably in Finance, Accounting or Real Estate Management.
• Minimum 3-5 years Real Estate Reporting experience required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel & Word with the ability to build spreadsheets (including macros, lookups, all formulas).
• Sound knowledge of Real Estate accounting and administration concepts and the ability to apply these principles in daily work.
• Good influence and communication skills with ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
• Strong organization and time management skills.
• Good organizational, time management and priority setting skills to meet tight deadlines.
• Proven ability to work as a teammate, but capable of also working independently.
• Sound analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret accounting data.
