Responsibilities:
The SEO & Digital Content Marketing intern will work in the Global Center for Brand & Insights Digital Customer Experience team. The Global Center for Brand & Insights is the corporate marketing function at Principal, responsible for brand management, marketing campaign execution, and customer insights. The Digital Customer Experience team focuses on activating each of those responsibilities digitally to deliver a best-in-class customer experience.
While the internship is designed to cover each aspect of search and digital content strategy, your skills and enthusiasm can help determine what you work on. You’ll get exposure and experience working in each of these functions:
• Ensuring the fundability of Principal and our digital properties through traditional search engine optimization tactics – from both a technical and content perspective.
• Partnering with the Paid Media team on search engine marketing campaign creation, budgeting, tracking, and optimization.
• Working in the Google Analytics platform to find insights and report on web traffic and online interaction.
• Analyzing onsite search trends and keywords to help inform digital content optimization and creation with the Content Studio.
• Communicating and presenting research and recommendations to content creators, domain managers, and product owners.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
• Current enrollment in an undergraduate Advertising, Computer Sciences, Marketing, Media Studies, or related program
• 3.0 GPA strongly preferred
• Involvement on campus through extracurricular actives or within the community
• Digital aptitude and eagerness to learn new systems and technologies
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High degree of accuracy and strong attention to detail
• Creative thinking
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with technical and creative SEO best practices
• Knowledge of digital marketing and/or analytics
• Familiarity of Google Marketing Platform tools, including Google Ads and Google Analytics
• Experience with running marketing campaigns – including marketing strategy, budgeting, execution, and results communication
