FInance Manager, Accounting
Overview
This position will support the Director and Vice-President by providing excellent accounting services to MasterCard Worldwide as part of the Global Business Services Center.
Manages all accounting, including revenue recognition, expense recording, and timely and accurate closes. Ensures the preparation of accurate, reliable, and timely reporting of financial statements and other financial data in accordance with applicable SEC, U.S., GAAP, statutory and regulatory requirements. Keeps abreast of changes to accounting requirements to ensure ongoing compliance. Develops and implements company wide accounting policies in conformance with GAAP and current accounting pronouncements. Prepares period-by-period analyses and explains significant account variances. Develops and implements cost-effective controls to promote data integrity and minimize risk. Monitors compliance with internal accounting policies and procedures and with all regulatory requirements
Role
Major Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Ensures the timely, accurate close of the general ledger in accordance with U.S. GAAP
• Prepares and approves general ledger journal entries supporting various business units, regions and/or corporate controller’s group
• Prepares and approves balance sheet account reconciliations
• Performs detailed account analyses
• Provides overall support and customer service to business partners located throughout the MasterCard Worldwide organization
• Oversees a team of on-shore and off-share staff and senior accountants including the responsibility of coaching, objective-setting and performance evaluations
• Participates in the development and implementation of process improvements to improve accounting operational efficiency and quality of output
• Monitors performance indicators to track progress against goals
• Participates in internal and external audits and responds to requests timely and appropriately
• Performs various ad-hoc reporting, analysis or projects, as needed
All about you
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, Master's Degree is a plus
• CPA, preferred
• Progressive accounting experience; preferred knowledge in Revenue Accounting
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, current accounting concepts and foreign currency
• Previous experience working in a large, global environment preferred
• Robust understanding of financial systems, preferably direct experience with Oracle
• Previous people management experience
• Prior experience in significant process improvements
• Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple activities in a condensed timeframe
• Customer service oriented with the ability to communicate effectively and develop solid working relationships across multiple levels and organization boundaries
