The Database Administrator, a new position added to an expanding team focused on data and analytics for the firm, will be a key member of the Cherry Bekaert IT Solutions Development team. In this position, you will join a growing team as a key contributor as we select & implement best in class methodologies and tools. This is an exciting and unique opportunity to help with the initial plan, model, build, and management a new database infrastructure in support of a full range of the firm’s IT solutions.
Job Duties:
• Data and Integration Architecture – Bring your expertise to help us design and build a new enterprise data warehouse. Ensure that data solutions are appropriately architected to deliver to business needs, and meet or exceed availability and performance service level objectives. Significantly contribute to the development of a data architecture to support the firm’s BI/analytics needs, including conceptual, logical and physical data models.
• Planning & Solution Delivery – Work with manager and IT project management to define the scope and schedule for delivering database solutions. Proactively monitor delivery risks & issues. Strive to deliver to agreed upon schedule and budget. Contribute to the overall application development team plan.
• Governance– Work with subject matter experts to build solutions emphasizing the identification and management of critical data elements to ensure enterprise wide understanding and agreement on key data elements.
• Risk & Compliance – Ensure that all database and integrations are designed and built to comply with, and at all times adhere to, Cherry Bekaert security, data privacy and other risk & compliance policies, procedures and controls.
• Maintenance & Support – Oversee break/fix and delivery of databases and integrations as a response to evolving user needs, regulatory and compliance changes and other drivers. Work with IT Operations to respond to issues impacting system availability and performance.
• Innovation – Champion the introduction of new tools, technologies and best practices for integration, master data management, maintenance, testing, deployment, reporting & analytics.
• Collaboration – Work closely with operations, security team, and application developers to build data solutions supporting business processes.

Required Education & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of database administration, primarily in Microsoft SQL Server environments
• 5+ years of experience building enterprise data warehouses and data marts
• 5+ years creating and managing efficient and reliable ETL processes for mission critical systems
• Experienced in data architecture, data warehousing, logical & physical database design, data modeling, ETL
• Solid understanding of modern development technologies and practices, including Agile/Scrum, SDLC, DevOps, MVC/RESTful API architectures, Git and cloud services integration
