Position Summary
The primary role of the Wealth Advisor is to provide “Total Wealth Advisory” services to clients. Total Wealth Advisory is a comprehensive service that revolves around a personal financial plan and includes advice on all aspects of a client’s financial needs. The Wealth Advisor should have a strong knowledge in financial planning, tax, cash flow planning, retirement planning, investment management, risk management and estate planning techniques. The Wealth Advisor works collaboratively in serving clients as part of a team.
Summary of Work Activities and Accountabilities:
The below functions reflect the general details necessary to describe the essential work activities and accountabilities of this position and are not all inclusive. Other activities may be assigned.
• Manage client relationships
• Create, deliver and monitor financial plans
• Make financial recommendations and help clients implement these recommendations
• Make investment recommendations and monitor client investment portfolios
• Prepare materials and present in client meetings
• Assist in implementing insurance and annuity products
• Oversee operations activity such as transaction processing (i.e. fees, trades and money movement)
• Promote wealth advisory services to principals in other industries and service lines of the firm
• Present in prospective client meetings
• Responsible for achieving client satisfaction and loyalty through delivering excellent service
Minimum Required Experience, Education and Certifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of financial services experience demonstrating progressing responsibility in managing client relationships
• CFP® certification recommended
• Proficient with Microsoft (MS) Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat
Travel:
This position could require frequent local travel to/from client sites and may require occasional non-local or overnight travel for client visits, training, meetings and/or other business-related purposes.
Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without accommodation.
• Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry files weighing up to 5 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. Individuals in client-serving positions must be able to travel to/from client sites, as required.
