Corporate Functions Legal Technology is looking for a Senior Scrum Master to partner with the leadership team to contribute to designing, supporting, and executing the Agile Transformation for the Legal IT Portfolio. This person will also help coordinate Program Increment Planning, coach and mentor Scrum Masters and Managers, and support the teams as they transform and scale.
About the job:
• Designs, recommends and implements consistent process and tools for program management
• Coaches senior leaders, managers, business partners, and teams through agile transformation, helping to ensure alignment with established methodologies and transformation goals.
• Identify emerging best practices and issues to help continuously advance agile methods and practices.
• Removes impediments through provision of appropriate resources, guidance and escalation.
• Collaborates with senior product owner and senior architect to ensure alignment on strategy and execution.
• Provides scaling expertise to align multiple agile teams, collaborate and facilitate quarterly planning with large groups, manage portfolio backlog of epics and features, and facilitate decision making with Product Management, Senior Leaders and Architects.
• Directs the execution of agility health checks or assessments to ensure that mindsets, principles, and practices are being maintained. Guide leaders through interpretation of the outcomes and plan for action.
• Ensures adherence to agile practice through program increment planning, retrospectives, etc. for scrum teams
• Ensures successful delivery of large impact and/or cross-functional product initiatives
• Applies effective SAFe methodologies
• Coaches, mentors and provides guidance to scrum masters
• Provides input on Scrum Master and team performance
• Guides prioritization and management of dependencies across teams.
Desired skills:
• Bachelor degree in Communications, Business, Computer Science or a related discipline and at least 6 years of IT and project/program management and experience in Agile software development including coaching on agile methodologies. Minimum of 8 years in a leadership position, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Requires ability to manage projects from conception to successful implementation. Requires solid project management skills, ability to multitask and manage multiple projects in a cross-functional environment.
• Requires excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and team building skills, business judgment, and proven expertise in directing the efforts of a technical staff. In-depth knowledge of business functions and extensive understanding of business operations, strategies and objectives. Ability to effectively apply scaling frameworks and methodologies with three plus years experience as a Scrum Master, Product Owner or Agile Coach. Strong communication, facilitation, presentation and consensus building skills.
