This internship will be part of the Capital Bank's COMMUNITY REINVESTMENT ACT (CRA) COMPLIANCE department.
Position is located in Charlotte, NC.
This Internship will provide:

Our Internship program is a 9 week PAID program that starts on Monday, June 3, 2019 and runs through Friday, August 2, 2019.
Intern Objective:
The objective is to give the Intern a better understanding about the importance of CRA (Community Reinvestment Act), Fair Lending, and Corporate Social Responsibility to the Bank's ability to improve economic profit growth.
Value for the Intern:
The Intern will benefit from this experience by having a better understanding of how financial institutions meet community credit and development needs and how institutions receive consideration under CRA. In addition, learn why Banks provide financial products and services to populations and businesses located in underserved, distressed, fragile and low to moderate income markets
Delivery:
The Intern will meet with local market community leaders, stakeholders, key market influencer and local and state governmental officials to conduct community needs assessments to determine impactful, creative and innovative ways to meet the targeted population social services, healthcare, educational, housing credit and community development needs.
At the end of the internship the intern will be expected to complete a community needs assessment/ market conditions assessment profile for the assisted markets. A template will be provide as a guide to assist in collecting the pertinent information needed to complete the assignment. Success will be measured based on assignment content and completion of task with a weekly check-in on progress.
Job Description:
1) Collection of market data via research via internet and/or community contact for community profile assessment
2) Assist in recruitment of internal volunteers for CRA community opportunities
3)A strong focus on customer service
4) Ability to communicate with regional management, officials, outside agencies and other individuals to coordinate work activities
5) Coordinate internal and external meeting for the Community Development Manager
6) Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor
HOURS:
Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Average 40 hours per week.
Will average 40 hours per week.

Positive attitude and proactive work ethic.
Basic financial and accounting knowledge, with an understanding of financial statements.
Experience in Microsoft Office – Particularly Excel, with an understanding of Pivot Tables.
Strong written/verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills, including exemplary attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work proactively with a team, as well as individually, in order to get projects accomplished.
