A career in our Deals Strategy practice, within Deals Transaction Services, will provide you the opportunity to help organisations realize the potential of mergers, acquisitions and divestitures and capital markets. In short, we help some of the world’s leading companies originate, create, execute, and realize value from deals. Through data driven insights we help our clients move in the right direction ensuring maximum value for their company. Our team helps companies navigate the accounting and financial reporting challenges of business combinations. As part of the team, you’ll develop roadmaps of the driving economic objectives, determine the appropriate professionals needed, and consider financial reporting implications for deals.
Responsibilities
As a Manager, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Proactively assist in the management of a portfolio of clients, while reporting to Senior Managers and above
• Be involved in the financial management of clients
• Be actively involved in business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients
• Contribute to the development of your own and team’s technical acumen
• Develop strategies to solve complex technical challenges
• Assist in the management and delivering of large projects
• Train, coach, and supervise staff
• Keep up to date with local and national business and economic issues
• Continue to develop internal relationships and your PwC brand
• Assist proactively in the management of several clients, while reporting to Managers and above.
• Establish effective working relationships directly with clients.
• Contribute to the development of own and team’s technical acumen.
• Keep up to date with local and national business and economic issues.
• Be actively involved in business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients.
• Continue to develop internal relationships and your PwC brand.
Preferred Skills:
Demonstrates extensive abilities and/or a proven record of success in relevant industry or functional / operational experience, showing progressive/promotion and academic achievement in the following areas:
• Delivering significant business results that reflects strategic and creative thinking, sharp analytical and problem solving skills including the ability to frame complex problems and apply creative analytics to formulate a pragmatic solution;
• Applying sound fact based statistical/mathematical approaches e.g. segmentation, regression to solving commercial problems;
• Participating actively in client or Target company management discussions to gather data and understand issues;
• Managing and conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses of complex commercial data leveraging strategic analysis techniques and develop client deliverables;
• Developing a high-level road-maps of structural commercial performance improvement initiatives;
• Defining and tracking key Financial and Commercial measures (KPIs) that indicate progress against value creation plan;
• Leading teams that foster a productive teamwork environment, as well as coaching staff including providing timely meaningful written and verbal feedback;
• Building solid and collaborative relationships with team members and fostering a productive teamwork environment;
• Communicating complex material effectively in written and oral formats to various audiences;
• Utilizing the Microsoft suite of applications such as Word, PowerPoint and proficiency with Excel; Proficiency in analytical tools such as Alteryx, SQL, Tableau preferred;
• Balancing time & multi-tasking effectively, ability to work in a fast paced environment (‘deal speed’) without sacrificing quality; and,
• Providing strategic and commercial advice to companies, including flexibility and desire to travel, as client assignments require.
