Investment Analyst
Summary
The Investment Analyst collaborates with the Senior Investment Analyst(s) in monitoring the firm’s Private Investment Platform and Capital Markets Platform. Participates in the review of new investment opportunities and ongoing monitoring of approved investment opportunities. Communicates directly with the General Partners and provides updates to CLA Wealth Advisory personnel. Ensures that all Private Investment Platform approved investment opportunities have complete files – secure & shared folders – and that the materials available to Advisors are approved and uploaded to SCT by Compliance. Assists in the planning and facilitation of informational calls. Assists in gathering and analyzing data for Top-Down Research Reports. Periodically, gather data and create analytics on the private investment platform.
Key Experiences
• Initial review of potential investment opportunities including report generation and database management of investments reviewed
• Create and present educational updates to advisors
• Due diligence trips/site visits
• Support for the Capital Markets Platform team including report and project timelines
• Serve as subject matter expert and point person for various topics as assigned by the CCO
Role Overview
Work Activities and Accountabilities -
The below functions reflect the general details of the essential work activities and accountabilities of this position and are not all inclusive. Other activities may be assigned.
• Private Investment Platform: Conduct, under supervision, the initial review of potential investment opportunities; including: document requests, building the internal folders, reviewing materials, creating reports for the committee to review, maintaining a database of the key terms of all investments reviewed, assisting in on-site due diligence trips, working with Compliance to get background checks completed. Answer advisor questions as a SME. Periodically create & present educational updates for advisors. Ensure Compliance requirements are satisfied.
• Capital Markets Platform: Build the internal folders, document requests, reviewing materials, creating reports for the committee, maintaining certain spreadsheets and other tracking documents on the platform and individual projects, developing project timelines with the Sponsor/CRL/Due Diligence team, and ensure compliance requirements are satisfied. Assist in monitoring approved investment opportunities throughout the capital raise process.
• Internal Client Support: Provide training and education to investment advisory and operational personnel. Serve as subject matter expert and point person for various topics as assigned by the CCO.
• Technical Competencies: Maintain a working knowledge/competency of appropriate systems applications utilized by firm, including Word, Adobe, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio.
Experience, Education, and Certification Requirements
• Experience: No experience required.
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• Certification/ Licenses: None required.
