Would you like a Business Analyst Summer Internship that will give you the opportunity to leverage a mixture of technical and business skills to support process improvement and/or Pega implementation activities?
CNO Financial Group’s IT internship program aims to develop key critical technical skills of students and college graduates that will drive the continued growth of the organization. As a Business Analyst Intern you will be responsible for requirements elicitation, analysis and creating requirements documentation which can include visualization and modeling. You will work closely with the Sales and Marketing business team, the Business Analyst and development teams and Project Manager to define product and/or component specifications for the WN OneSource Exchange project. You will have the opportunity to expand on skills in interfacing with business customers and engaging in real world product and application specifications that will drive sales.
Key Duties:
• Participate in requirements elicitation meetings
• Document the requirements using different techniques
• Collaborate with business and development teams
• Triage testing defects as related to requirements
• Participate in and contribute to project status meetings
Potential Project Opportunities:
Robotics / Process Improvement
• Evaluation of identified improvement opportunities to create / validate business cases for process improvement or automation efforts
• Partner with experienced resources to develop proposed implementation plans for process improvement or automation initiatives
• Partner with experienced resources to design/build/test/implement process improvement or automation solutions (as time allows)
Pega Implementation Support
• Participate in and contribute to the delivery Pega functionality by becoming part of an Agile scrum team and:
◦ Partnering with an experienced Pega Business Architect or Business Analyst to contribute to user story creation and elaboration activities
◦ Partnering with an experienced business tester to develop and execute test plans and test cases to ensure Pega functionality fulfills the acceptance criteria of each user story
◦ Contributing to Agile Scrum team activities such as stand ups, sprint planning sessions, sprint reviews, etc… to deliver on project tasks as assigned.
Key Requirements:
• Student must be entering their Senior year in college
• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a computer science or information systems related discipline
• Committed to a full-time, 40 hr/week, summer internship between May – August 2019
• Foundational analytical, critical-thinking, and reasoning skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Committed to the work of the organization through our core values: integrity, customer focus, excellence and teamwork
• Good interpersonal & consultative skills
• Facilitation skills
• Self-motivated, organized and effective time management skills
• Some knowledge of technology structures: networks, database, communications, internet
Desired Skills:
• Ability to translate business objectives to technical requirements
• Ability to leverage MS Excel for data analysis
• Ability to leverage MS office suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Pega business architecture or systems architecture interest / training
• Robotic process automation or scripting interest / training
• Interest / training in Lean or Six Sigma Process methodologies
