JOB INFORMATION
Work with considerable latitude in performing highly complex duties related to managing loan and MBS pool transactions, including overseeing customer (lenders, servicers, and internal partners) performance, to ensure data accuracy, adherence to guidelines and mitigation of operational and financial risk. Provide value-added expertise in developing new concepts, techniques, and standards. Utilize wide-ranging experience to conduct research and problem-solving on highly complex issues. May guide and direct the work of team members and provide training to staff.
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS
• Manage and/or perform highly complex reporting, remitting, and reconciling activities related to the funding and delivery of whole loans and securitization of mortgage backed securities (MBS) and monthly servicing activities. Analyze data, research issues and exceptions, and make appropriate changes. Ensure adherence to internal controls and regulatory standards.
• Monitor operational performance in areas such as monthly servicing, delivery accuracy, custodial account management, cash management, reporting, remitting, and lender compliance. Support customers in complying with guidelines and servicing requirements.
• Direct special and highly complex negotiated deals, high volume deals, and new lender deliveries for assigned lenders. Devise effective solutions on highly significant matters.
• Build internal and external customer relationships. May develop customer training and provide training in partnership with internal partners.
• Design, develop, monitor, and update workflow processes. Ensure processes respond to operational risk and control objectives, process improvement goals, and achievement of business goals.
• Assume a lead role in reviewing systems to enhance controls and simplify operations. Support the technology group by testing system enhancements prior to release.
• Implement quality control measures. Conduct in-depth root cause analyses of customer problems and issues. Propose solutions. Facilitate implementation.
• May perform highly complex projects or participate as a team member on projects at the highest level of complexity.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
• 6+ years of related experience
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
• Analyze information obtained from management to conceptualize and define operational problems.
• Communication skills -will need the ability to communicate professionally at all levels with internal and external partners
• Solid Business Writing Acumen- will need the ability to communicate effectively via writing, document and record project progress, analysis results and findings, key issues, etc.
• Problem Solving- Ability to identify operational and process issues and collaborate to identify solutions.
• Collaboration – Will need to be a good partner and collaborate well with others including various groups throughout the organization and servicing partners.
• Analysis – Ability to analyze data and thoroughly review multiple data points to root cause and determine appropriate resolution or remediation
• Self-driven – Ability to work well independently and continually look for ways to add value and drive performance, will be accountable for assigned projects and tasks
