Description
The incumbent is broadly responsible for providing financial reporting and performance analysis for the Commercial Banking line of business, residing in Corporate Finance & Global Markets, with specific support for Capital Markets and Business Capital. Scope includes responsibility for supporting the month-end financial close process, reporting of monthly results and variance analysis, preparing monthly forecasts and support of the annual budgeting process. The position is also responsible for the proactive identification of financial issues, risks and opportunities that exist in the business, communicating them to finance and line of business management and synchronizing financial impacts in budgets and forecasts.
Primary responsibilities include:
• Serve as analyst support / finance contact for line of business executive management
• Complete monthly financial close process via review of financial results with identification and coordination of necessary adjustments / accruals to ensure accuracy
• Preparation of monthly financial performance results including insightful variance analysis and pipeline reporting
• Tracking of business performance drivers and synchronizing them with forecasts and budgets, in particular capital markets fees, trading gains, and ABL loans
• Development of monthly expense forecasts related to Corporate Finance and Business Capital
• Help complete annual budget and strategic plan updates which include documentation of key assumptions that reflect the input of line of business management
• Assist in leading key Commercial Banking special projects critical to business and Finance
Qualifications
• 1+ years experience in financial analysis, reporting or accounting
• Strong analytical skills coupled with ability to succinctly communicate complex financial issues both verbally and in writing
• Ability to work on multiple tasks within tight deadlines, while maintaining a high degree of accuracy
• Proficiency in MS Excel and Powerpoint
• Knowledge of commercial banking and Essbase financial reporting platform is preferred but not required
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline required
