Business Risk Services - Strategic Risk and Operations Director
Position Summary:

The Business Risk Services (BRS) practice protects value. The BRS Practice includes Risk Advisory Services, Forensic Advisory Services and Data Analytics.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
As a Director, you will develop a broad base of industry and functional knowledge while managing significantly larger and more complex aspects of our engagements. You will work closely with clients to dive deep into their strategic risk management issues, create strategic risk recommendations, develop persuasive presentations, and implement risk-based strategies and processes and related solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Develop, oversee and implement strategic risk/ERM programs for clients.
• Utilize previous consulting and industry experience to help companies set and achieve their long-term strategic risk/ERM goals.
• Responsible for conducting maturity and risk assessments to help link ERM to strategic plans, and align strategic goals to performance metrics, compliance data, and other necessary factors.
• Create or work with established frameworks and governance structures and performance metrics to indicate risk levels and prioritization of risk factors and portfolios.
• Work collaboratively with other Grant Thornton practice groups on potential opportunities and engagements to deliver a holistic client service delivery model.
• · Maintain a good working relationship with clients and work effectively with client management and staff at all levels to gather information and perform services.
• Perform engagement management responsibilities, including day-to-day oversight, performance reviews, task delegation, project scheduling, project financials, and quality review and client management.
• Manage business development activities, such as proposals, capture, account teams, whitepapers, conferences, and/or other thought leadership materials.
• Meet or exceed sales targets for new and follow-on work.
Additional responsibilities may include:
• Perform accurate analysis and design effective solutions to a variety of client issues.
• Work closely with Grant Thornton managers and partners to promptly identify and resolve client problems or issues.
• Access Grant Thornton’s global network to bring the best experience to bear.
• Communicate (verbally and in writing) externally with clients and internally with all levels of the organization to successfully accomplish objectives portraying knowledge and confidence.
• Manage, develop, train, coach and mentor staff on projects and assess performance for engagement and year-end reviews.
• Motivate others to perform at maximum efficiency without sacrificing quality of the services delivered.
• Interview campus and/or experienced candidates.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in related field required. Masters’ degree preferred.
• 10 plus years of related work experience in a similar consulting practice or function servicing cross-industry clients at a national level. Will also consider other consulting experiences (including in-house).
• Experience working in corporate risk management, including commercial insurance and alternative risk transfer solutions, is a plus.
• Experience working with clients across various and highly regulated industries.
• Working knowledge and experience with various established risk management and cybersecurity frameworks.
• Must be able to design, manage, and execute an independent work plan with the input of your
• Engagement Leader and team members.
• Experience using various Project Management technology platforms such as MS Project, SmartSheet, and VersionOne.
• Must be able to produce persuasive, simple, and clear story lines, slides, and other output relevant to audiences of all levels.
• Must be able to quickly establish credibility and trust with clients and colleagues.
• Must be intellectually curious and motivated to develop professionally, including being an active participant in developing firm methodologies and/or professional certifications.
• Must demonstrate strength in or a desire to build skills related to Grant Thornton’s core values of: Collaboration, Leadership, Excellence, Agility, Respect and Responsibility.
• Ability to travel domestically or internationally

• Ability to work additional hours and travel domestically as needed.
